I think I had some mini strokes last night - life with a teen daughter

Bee_Kay wrote: OK ....

I told you all how Ashley and this boy like each other..... and they talk on the phone alot and stuff like that. He lives about 2 blocks away from us.

Ash wanted to see Cody yesterday. So, my DH had to work last night and Cody calls Ashley to see if she could come over.
Well, he lives with his dad and his dad is out of town.

But, there was a mutual friend there though. So, DH and I talked it over on the phone, and we decided that she could go there for 1/2 hour and "hang out".

OMG you guys! I was about having a coronary after I dropped her off..... I was thinking "If he does ANYTHING to her, I'll kill him". I swear, if he did, it would be a race between me and DH to who would get their hands on him first...... anyways.

After a half hour, I called her cellphone and told her I was on my way to pick her up. She came out to the care and she was all giggly and excited so I asked her how it went.

She said, all they did is watch TV and talk. He didn't try and put his arm around her or anything.

He walked her to the door and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek goodnight and told her that he would call her today.

SOOOOOOO, I got to hear "Cody this and Cody that" for the next couple hours last night LOL!!

The 1/2 hour thing was to show her that we do trust her..... giving a little, but not too much right off the bat.

MM'sMama replied: Glad it went well.......I will so never be ready for this even with Luci whos 17 bawling.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: See I think that is just SO CUTE!!! wub.gif I remember those days. She must be so excited. There's nothing better than young love. I'm so glad you are experiencing this with her...getting a second chance in a way since your older daughter didn't give you this chance. wink.gif hug.gif

Edward's Mommy replied: You're such a good Mom!!

luvmykids replied: wub.gif Awww, she sounds so cute! I think you're handling it very well! My stepd who is 12 is starting to talk about boys, it doesn't bother me nearly as much as her dad .... he's starting to hang out at her school so much they're probably gonna start charging him tuition too! laugh.gif

Bee_Kay replied:
When Ashley was 12, she stated getting interesting in boys at school.... and that is exactly where it stayed.... AT SCHOOL wink.gif

holley79 replied: Oh I would have been stroking out also. LOL. Glad that all went well though. Trust is a great thing between mother and daughter. Seems you both have a wonderful relationship. thumb.gif

Bee_Kay replied: Thank you wub.gif

We do have a great relationship, so do Tyler and I.
Ashley and I butt heads often though... I don't know, there is something with mothers and teen daughters.
