I think I broke my fricking foot.... - pic inside, there is a little blood..

I called DH - he came back right away - and I went to see the nurses that work here... they couldn't tell whether it was broken or not - some prodding hurt, some didn't... it's still so swollen - it's been an hour and some already, the swelling went down by about half.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I hit submit too early - I wanted to say that on the nurses recommendation, to wait until the swelling goes down, and they'd re-check around 3pm, rather than go wait at the hospital for x-rays uselessy.

Interesting to know that if I put ice for 15 minutes, leave it off for 30 minutes, repeat 3 more times - and the swelling doesn't go down, that the chances are very high there is a fracture...

Anyways... when DH gets home around 4, maybe we'll go to a clinic. It's not like they can put a cast on it - but at least I have a paper telling me I can sit and do nothing for a few days.

Convinient, huh? Moving day is a few days away... lol

It's painful, but not that painful... I mean... I can still get around... just carefully... but that doesn't mean there is no break, I know.

Well not "catch" catch... but you know... softening the fall, so to speak - I usually do that when I drop fruit, or something that can shatter - to avoid the mess on the floor....it usually works... it saved many bowls and mugs... heh heh

the fallig distance from my foot to the floor isn't enough to break dishes, so I try to put my foot in between the falling object and the floor to lessen the impact and avoid a break or a splat...

I always heard if a bone was broken, there usually wasn't any swelling...... At least you were close to the ice bucket.

Not really. I had to go up one floor (elevator just outside my dorr practically) and down the hall a little... dh called ahead to let them know I was coming - the nurse there took me down the hall and down another level in a wheelchair to see the 2nd nurse, in the nursing office...

then one of them went to the kitchen to get herself some soup while getting me a bag of ice.

Then they brought me back home in a wheelchair. The old people were all looking at me funny.

Hope it's feeling better Rocky. I also hope there's no fracture. Foot fracs are tough healing! And don't let anyone ever tell you you can't catch an apple with your foot... You just have to be more careful.

Anyhow... sorry about the "fricken" earlier... The way you posted was so funny that despite your pain, I couldn't resist. Again, I hope all is okay.

I meant it more in the sense that this is DH's last week of work... and so he could take his 3 remaining sick days instead of working...
