I think I am the only person on the planet - that doesn't have a cell phone

The only reason I got him one was because during school he was being dropped off by the bus with a 16 year old (one of my girlfriends teenagers) and I was afraid that if something ever happened to where he couldnt call me, he would atleast have his cell to call me. Everyday he would call and check in with me and it gave me piece of mind. His phone was locked to only being able to call certain numbers, so if he lost it, the person who got a hold of it wouldnt be able to do much with it.
It does make it nice to have a cell if you needed to get in touch with your husband for something while you were out and about though.

mummy2girls replied: the only reason i got one is because i need it for work and im a single mom and there was a few times i was driving with her and my car broke down:(

Everyone in my family has one too, except Tanner but I am sure it's a matter of time. If I had my choice I would rather have my cell phone then a home phone. They are pretty reasonable here and we even added one for my Dad in case of emergency especially when he has Tanner.

If you want one go get one girl...lol

ediep replied: I have one, but I never use it. I have to keep it on me at all times because that is the number on our house listing, and if any agents want to show our house, they call my cel phone to schedule

Ditto! I would give anything to be able to chuck mine, it drives me insane ringing all day long non stop. Having one makes people think they should be able to get ahold of you no matter what, so even if you don't answer they just keep calling But I'm stuck with it because we don't have an office staff right now so all the business calls are forwarded to it.

I turn mine off at 5pm now and don't turn it on again until 9 or 10am just for some peace and quiet!

I've never even had to use the stupid thing for an emergency

lovemy2 replied: I think if you have the onstar for emergencies then you really don't NEED one - DH and I both have them and they are nice when you are out and about, etc.....

My mom can use her cell great but CD's are a whole other story, I had to explain and show her everything when my dad got her a CD player a while back.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Okay, I didn't have one until Logan was 6 months old. My mom got me one and paid the bill for the past few years until Aaron and I could get our finances straightened out after all his surgeries. She insisted I needed one for all the trips I have to do back and forth to Salt Lake City because of cardiology services. I do make the majority of those trips alone, without Aaron, because usually they are just check ups. And I feel much safer on the road knowing that I could call AAA if I needed to.

Jackie012007 replied: no cell phone here - I had one when I was an RA at college and never got any rest/peace/etc... so I got rid of it when my contract was up a few years ago, and have never had one since. I should get one now though, now that I am on the road with the baby at the new job every day! I just worry about people trying to call me 24/7 again!!!
