I think Harley is sick
luvmykids wrote: I noticed he didn't eat last night, wouldn't drink either. Today he's been laying around, totally not like him, still won't eat or drink. He wouldn't even get off his couch in the garage to come inside
sparkys2boys replied: Oh Monica, I would maybe get him looked at if by tomorrow he is the same way. Does he look hurt anywhere? Will he let you touch him?
Crystalina replied: Harley's a dog I take it?
My dog was acting like that last night. He even went into his kennel and wouldn't come out and this morning I found it was because he had a dingleberry. DH took care of it but wasn't too happy about it. After that Bubba was fine.
I hope yours is nothing serious.
luvmykids replied: He's still his sweet as cotton candy self, he's let me check him from his nose (which is dry and cracked, does that mean anything?) to his toes. He licks my hand but won't even take a treat or a piece of bread (which he is famous for stealing).
I had to go outside a few minutes ago and he went straight to his ball, I threw it and he did go after it although very slowly. Now he's back on his couch.
Crystalina replied: Maybe he just ate something that didn't agree with him. How long has he been like that? I'd watch him and if he isn't better by tomorrow call the vet.
luvmykids replied: Since last night. I kept waking up to check on him He slept pretty normally except that he was panting a lot when the other dogs weren't, and wouldn't take a drink.
A&A'smommy replied: I would definitely keep an eye on him and try to get him to drink if he hasn't drank anything by in the morning I would call your vet and ask them what they think and if you should bring him in.
since he isn't eating or drinking I'm assuming his stomach hurts, has he thrown up or had any diarrhea? He might be constipated
mom21kid2dogs replied: Panting (in the absence of other reasons) is a sign of pain in dogs. If he still isn't eating and drinking by tomorrow, I'd get him into a vet. Is he going to the bathroom? If he's not, he may have eaten something he shouldn't (hard to believe in a lab ) and is blocked. Hope he feels better soon!
Calimama replied: Poor little guy. I hope he's feeling better soon!
luvmykids replied: I saw him pee twice, which really suprised me since I haven't been able to get him to drink.
I noticed a slew of raw and bloody bones near the house, (sorry, tmi) I'm wondering if it was some kind of animal and he happened to get ahold of some of it? I threw them away, I guess I should have saved one in case we have to go to the vet.
eta: It is VERY likely he ate something he shouldn't have, because he has figured out how to open my pantry door but I didn't see any signs of anything harmful. Unless a loaf of whole wheat bread could do it to him
lovemy2 replied: Dry nose is a sign of dehydration - I would call the vet - hope he is ok -
redchief replied: I hope he's feeling better, Mon.
luvmykids replied: Today he is back to his normal bouncy adorably obnoxious self He didn't eat much this morning but he at least took a few bites, and he's drinking and bouncing everywhere
