sparkys2boys wrote: Ok, I need ure advice you guys on a matter. Logan (8) for two days has been well nicly put having erections alot but.... having a sore belly too.. and said sometimes he thinks he needs to pee and then it goes away. We dont have a family doc so that means that I have to run him up too the hospital and sit for hours and then try to explain all this to them. When I ask if it hurts when he pee's he says sometimes and when asked when it hurts the most he says when its big blink.gif so what do I do?? Is this a normal "boy" thing or should I be taking him to the doctor?? HELP unsure.gif

moped replied: Could it be a bladder infection

sparkys2boys replied: Thats what I am thinking but I dont that having it get like that every 10 mins is a sign .. is it??

momofone replied: I know some health plans have a nurse line where you can call and speak to a nurse maybe they can give advice to you.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Could be a hernia...

could be stones, but he seems al ittl eyoung for those...

does it really hurt, or does it "hurt" when he plays with it... lol he is getting at that age you know... lol

sparkys2boys replied:
TY for reminding me Rocky..lol.. He's not playing with it at all and it just hurts when he has the erection but anyways DH has taken him up to the doc just in case I hate to leave it in case it is more KWIM.. who ever said having lil boys is easier then girl.. YA RIGHT!

Calimama replied:
Hope it's nothing. KUP! hug.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: I dont think a bladder infection can cause an erection, but there are certainly a number of things that can cause a pryoprism, which is an erection that is painful...so its best he is getting checked out. and a hernia could also be something that could cause it.
i hope it turns out ok.

A&A'smommy replied: it sounds like a bladder infection to me!!! KUP hug.gif

xxRachxx replied: im not sure tbh hun but my 2 nephews had something similar where it was painful when they got an erection and it turned out there foreskin tmi sorry was too tight and they ad to be curcumstised im not sayin its that hun but its worth a thought

i hope everything works out ok for him x

sparkys2boys replied:
TY its not TMI at all.. I asked. Logan had that done was he was 5.. not fun times. He was constantly getting infections and had to go in for it. I wish DH would get bk soon I hate not knowing. Poor DH was like omg Sherri what if they tell me its a man thing..lol. dear heavens I am a man I should know this stuff..lol. But I would rather us look foolish then not to take him and it actually be something that gets worse. Thanks you guys.. always there for even the sticky questions.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Difficulty urinating could cause erections, I guess. I mean, we all remember those little baby boy ones during diaper changes that meant, look out mom. Hopefully it's something easily treated. And I agree, I'd rather look foolish now than wish I'd brought him in sooner.

MoonMama replied: Poor guy, sad.gif I hope its nothing, and he feels better. KUP. hug.gif hug.gif

Calimama replied: How's he doing?

moped replied: Any news

holley79 replied: Oh I hope he is ok. Let us know.

boyohboyohboy replied: i was just checking in for an update also. i hope he is ok

sparkys2boys replied: ok I posted but it never showed up. grrrrrr. Thank you guys for asking how he is. Here is what happened at the doctor. He did a urine test and nothing showed no infestion or anything and he did an exam and felt, saw nothing. He gave DH cream to use on it and sent them home mad.gif . So they get home and the poor child has had an erection for hours now and it has not left and he is sore, as you can imagine. I am just getting ready to march back to the hospital with him and its almost 11 at this time when the phone rings and its the doctor. He said he was thinking about Logan after he left with DH and was not happy about the treatment and felt he did not do his job and wanted to ask a few more questions. After that he tells me he is really not sure and that it is not normal and not a "boy" thing and that he is calling the ped at home and also the uriogolist(sp). He then calls em back and says that the ped says he has NEVER seen a child have an erection for that long and wasnt sure either, he suggested letting him go to sleep and seeing it it went away, which it did after he was alseep for abit. Now today again its there, and stays for a long long time. We are to try the cream for a day or two and then if its still like that to go back. I feel like we have got nothing done and the poor kid is sore. Im not sure what else to do but wait though. sorry this got so long..lol

Crystalina replied: WTH is the cream supposed to do? unsure.gif I'm not sure but I really doubt putting cream on an erection will help it go away! rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Poor kid. I hope you can get to the bottom of this. He must be miserable. And how do they not know what's causing this? mad.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: I was searching how to treat priaprism.....this is what i found if it helps at all.
it said that it can be a blockage of blood flow out of the penis, it might need to be aspirated.
did they do any other tests to see if its related to something else?
I think a urologist is the best bet, can you take him to see one of those instead of an er doctor?

I feel so bad for him, i am sure its painful. I hope they figure out what is wrong soon. i dont know if a cream can help something like this, but what damage can be done waiting for the cream to work?

this is from web md

Crystalina replied:

Wow! This sounds like it could be it. I'd definatly talk to a urologist.

Calimama replied: I hope you get some answers. Poor guy. hug.gif

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: your poor son ! I hope they figure out what the h is wrong and fast. hug.gif
