I love them sure...but do I like them very much?
kit_kats_mom wrote: Nope. Not so much today. Not really. Lauren is feeling better but the little bugger struggles and squirms, punches and kicks when nursing and during our nursing match this afternoon, she scratched me in the eye. I have a scratched cornea and the entire left side of my face is red and swollen up and my eye won't stop watering. Oh, and it hurts like the dickins. Grrrr
Then K has just been on a roll all day. She lost all of her privliges today in this order. Carousel ride at the mall, gone due to not listening and talking back. Ice cream after lunch? Gone due to not eating lunch. Movie this morning, gone due to not eating breakfast and not listening. indoor playground after nap? gone due to not taking a nap. Special suprise that daddy is brining home from his trip to Buffalo, Gone due to being and out and out jerk.
I shouldn't be suprised since this almost always happens on the second day that daddy is out of town but OMG I am about to hand these kids to him as soon as he hits the door and go check into a hotel. ARGH
I thought today would be different since I had plans to keep the girls happy and have a "girl day". we were going to the mall for a carousel ride and to return a shirt. Have lunch out. Ice cream on the way home. Nap then the indoor playground. Go figure
Oh. And the cherry on the poop sundae of my day? Katherine peed on the floor not once but twice. She hasn't done this in months and it's all about control. I know there is nothing wrong with her except that she wants me to drop what I'm dong and watch her pee and I didn't do it.
amynicole21 replied: Ahhhhh, you are having one of MY days! LOL! Nora just scratched my eyeball 3 days ago... while I was sleeping and she was nursing and wiggling, I opened my eye the very second she poked me in the eyeball.
I'm glad she's feeling better though
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Hugs to you! From one mommy to another! I was just about to think that I was the only one feeling that way!! My crazy son has me at my wits end with his attitude telling me to stop when I try to tell him not to do something or redirect him. Not napping is soo very common in my house these days and that is driving me batty! I really look forward to my afternoons because nap time is MY time....but not so much lately though!! It will get better! Wont it?!?!
PrairieMom replied: sounds like my day too! I think i need to send mine to toddler boot camp! i swear if he asks me " Why?" or "what?" one more time i will go insane!
luvmykids replied: Ouch! Hope your eye feels better soon!
I have more of those days than I care to think about, hope it gets better when DH gets home!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: How is Mr Boy doing with the new baby in the house?
luvbug00 replied: Ok OWWWWW!! Strong you must be, or insaine you will go.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I hope your eye feels better soon, Cary. I know exactly what kind of day you are having. I've been having far too many of those days since school let out for the summer. We've been so busy. I find the days we just sit around the house and do nothing or just just go to the pool for a couple of hours make the best days. Sometimes it just isn't worth it to take them anywhere for a reward, ya know?
PrairieMom replied: Pretty good actually. He is totall in love with his new sister, but he has regressed in his potty training a little, we are back to wearing pull ups, He just can't be trusted! Night time is also hard, He wants to sleep with us, which he hasn't done since he was teeny, but Baby Girl sleeps in there, so why shouldn't he? I shouldn't complaine tho, he really has been adjusting well. ( so far)
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Good to hear he is adjusting well....I guess "they" say kids often go backwards in the potty training.
jcc64 replied: Hey Cary, Sorry the ladies are driving you to drink. I'm hardly partying over here either. End of school year chaos in conjunction with baseball overload (5, count 'em, 5 teams) combined with acute work stress has all made me one cranky mamma. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Too bad we couldn't join each other for a virtual cocktail (is there a smilie for that?)
My3LilMonkeys replied: Ouch! I hope your day goes better tomorrow - it sounds like today was a universal bad day. My kids were pretty cranky and misbehaving, but not nearly as bad as yours.
kit_kats_mom replied: Yes you smart alek (in regards to the respone to my max & ruby post) LOL
to you chug a lug (lets pretend that's a bottle of wine....or tequilia Chattin with my bud Jeanne annnnnnd repeat! Yay!
and a little later tonight and the following morning when the kids are up at the butt crack of dawn:
Maybe I do need to get out more.
Brias3 replied: Sorry you had such a difficult day with the girlies! I seem to be in the majority when I say I not only sympathize with you but I have more days like these than I care to mention!
CantWait replied: I think that's the closest one.
CantWait replied: Sorry your day didn't go as planned Cary. I hate when you try and have a great day with the kids and it all goes wrong and not as planned. Hope your eye feels better soon.
~~*Missi*~~ replied: I am so sorry you are having a poopy day... i ahve to say i chuckled with the cherry on top my poop sundae thou...
Tomorrow is a new day and a better one... well don't hold me to it!
redchief replied: Days like that it's definitely easier being a dad. Sorry you're having such a tough day ladies. May tomorrow bring you peace and your hangovers be light. *cheers*
ashtonsmama replied: You sound like my sister, Cary. I've already (in these short 4 months) gotten the "nursing pokes" and I can tell you, my eye was puffy too, my whole face got scratched. So I hear ya, hun. Sorry your day was so crappy. Mine wasn't a sunshiny day either. Sorry.
And Katherine--man, once my kids get older and start going through the "control freak" stages, I'm sure NOT going to be a happy person, believe you me.
I don't have a great patience limit.
Tell her I said get her butt in line.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I am right there with you. I love 'em completely and without a doubt, but some days I cannot say that I like their 'ugliness'. I await nightfall on those days & the resulting crashing into bed, like a child eagerly awaits Christmas morn.
aspenblue1 replied: That always seems to happen when I try to plan something fun for the girls also.
My2Beauties replied: to you hon! I surely know how you feel, I've been on vacation this entire week so I have been with Hanna all day every day and while I love it at the same time, I've told her more than a dozen times that me and her "are fittin' to box" Hope it gets better Cary!
Boys r us replied: Oh Cary! Sometimes us mommies really get the bad end of things! I'm sorry you're having such a rough day! I've always said that it isn't the terrible 2's, it's the terrible 3's!
TheOaf66 replied: that happens to my wife a lot, and she usually does hand him off to me, on well sometimes you just need a break, it is hard when hubby goes out of town...hang in there
MommyToAshley replied: Hope today is a better day for you.
I think we can all sympathize with you because we have all been there and had days like that. Then, they turn around and do something really sweet that just melts your heart and you forget why you were pulling your hair out.
