I just want to say...

Kittilicious wrote: I got online about 8 or 9 years ago. I hit "mommy boards" pretty hard, but I got to the point where I was sick of them. My kids were growing and it was harder and harder to find boards that grew with my kids. After they were out of diapers & bottles I didn't want to talk about it anymore... "been there, done that" sort of thinking. I moved on to boards that didn't revolve around kids... I found I needed the adult conversation - about adult things. I spent all day with my kids, I didn't want to talk about them at the end of the day!

A few times, here and there, in the past few years I have tried to go back to "mommy boards" and I just couldn't get into it. Same thing, same discussions as I had left years earlier.

Then I had to search again with my recent problems with my youngest daughter, Krissy. Through a search is where I found this board and I sighed. Not again. I really was not in the mood to hit another "mommy board". But I did anyway. Here I am. And you know what? There is a feel to this board - a different feel that I haven't felt in other boards. I've found myself actually opening up the pregnancy, infant, toddler topics and going down memory lane to when I was there - and WANTING to respond with my experiences. Have I lost my mind? I don't think so... I think you guys have something really good here. I'm not sure what it really is, but the topics are different. They aren't the same mommy-topics that I despised. There's something different about them, but I haven't quite figured it out yet. But I know I like it.

I just had to share that.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I have opinions on why I am drawn to here. They are all good of course, and many have been mentioned before. But to me IMO, the short of it is that Rod and Dee Dee, the mods, and many of the members here are completely genuine. Open (to a safe degree) and honest. Superficial (there that word is again) attititudes are non-existent, to me, we jump for joy when good news is shared, and are saddended just as much when bad news is shared as though they were our own family. P&PT's go up, and from the updates given many have been of great benefit (take Spencer & Kirsten, for example wub.gif ). When a vent is posted, or a laugh is shared, I think we have that comraderie with that person or those people. We are mothers and fathers, that makes us have a common bond from a distance right there. But I think many of the members here are genuine, and kind & truly are online friends like no other. Many of us may never meet in person, but we still have that commonality; that is parenthood.

Glad you are happy here. smile.gif

CantWait replied: Very well said. Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself. It's good to hear when sometimes things get so crazy and we hear a lot about how people want to leave the boards because of hurt feelings etc. hug.gif
