I have a pregnancy weight question - How long

moped wrote: So how much did you gain?

How long did it take you to lose?

Was it harder the second time than with the first?

Was it a natural or C Section?

Did you BF?

What do you think helped you lose the weight?

PrairieMom replied: With Ben I went from 134 to 200. blush.gif I pee'd 30 of it off in about 2 weeks, but wasn't back down to my pre-prego weight until 10 months later.
With Al I went from 136 to 170 and it took me 9 months to get down to 130. thumb.gif

moped replied: Yeah but Tara - you are super slim now - so what are you at now???

PrairieMom replied:
130. I'm 5 foot 4 1/2 tho, so really, that isn't all that thin. I lost that extra 6 pounds on that evil diet and it hasn't come back. My but that thighs are still huge tho, I can't fit into my old pants, so I don't know where that weight came from... rolleyes.gif Well, except my fingers, my wedding ring is to big now. Of all the places to loose weight from. huh.gif rolleyes.gif

holley79 replied: So how much did you gain? 65 pounds

How long did it take you to lose? about 2 months

Was it harder the second time than with the first? only one

Was it a natural or C Section? natural

Did you BF? yes

What do you think helped you lose the weight? I did weight watchers when I thought about it.

mom21kid2dogs replied: I didn't start off particularly slim so I only gained 15 lbs. I lost it all in the hospital. Despite that I still can't wear alot of my pre O clothes wacko.gif It was a vaginal birth and I breastfed/pumped for 6 weeks.
After O, I was pretty busy and we adopted a wacko dog that required 2 hours of walking a day~that helped!!! (but I don't recommend the dog adoption route!! rolleyes.gif )

moped replied:
I don't think I will adopt a crazy dog anytime soon - LOL

Too funny

BAC'sMom replied: So how much did you gain?
1st-50lb
2nd-25lb
3rd-35lb

How long did it take you to lose?
1st-6-8 months
2nd- 2-3 months
3rd- I am still waiting tongue.gif

Was it harder the second time than with the first?
No it was harder with the 3rd child

Was it a natural or C Section?
All Natural

Did you BF?
Yes all of them

What do you think helped you lose the weight?
Just watching what I ate and being active

lovemy2 replied: I was like 145 when I got pregnant with Olivia - the rest of the story will go untold laugh.gif

But I do have to say I breastfed with Dylan for 6 weeks and weight seemed to just fall off during those 6 weeks - after that well like I said the rest of the story will go untold.....

I have my 20 year HS reunion in June - we'll talk then laugh.gif

moped replied:
Oh silly - tell the story!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: So how much did you gain? I ganied 25 lbs with Wil and about 30 or so with Wesley.

How long did it take you to lose? Both times it took me about a month to lose it all. Maybe a little longer with my first. blush.gif

Was it harder the second time than with the first? Easier the second time for me. I was so busy running around after a toddler. I didn't have time ot pig out.

Was it a natural or C Section? Vaginal first time, C the second.

Did you BF? Yep, both times. Longer the second time.

What do you think helped you lose the weight? Mostly because of BF, but also because I worked out before, during and after my PG. I also eat very healthy. And I think the main reason is genetics. wink.gif

PrairieMom replied: I never experienced the weight "melting off" dry.gif I BF Ben for about 3 months, but pumped until 5 and BF Al for 6 months.

moped replied:
Yeah never "melted" off here either!

Katrinadoodle replied: I've gained 25 lbs so far... at week 33 biggrin.gif

luvmykids replied: So how much did you gain? With the twins, 75 lbs. With Macie, about 30.

How long did it take you to lose? After the twins it came right off, I'd say less than a month and I was in my prepregnancy jeans. Macie was a little harder, I don't guess I ever truly lost it all because I wear one size bigger now (which I am totally fine with) but it still came off pretty quick.
Was it harder the second time than with the first? Not harder, just a tad slower.

Was it a natural or C Section? Natural both times.

Did you BF? Yes, and pumped.

What do you think helped you lose the weight? I swear the BF did, the reason I think so is because I was ALWAYS ravenous while bf'ing. With Macie I also think the fact that I was chasing 2yo twins and we had moved to the country...I was outside a lot messing with the horses.

MotherForever2043 replied: So how much did you gain?
First- 25lbs
Second- 30lbs
Third- 45lbs

How long did it take you to lose?
First-4 months (I was pretty young and active then)
Second- 6months
Third- Still in the process

Was it harder the second time than with the first?
No

Was it a natural or C Section?
All natural

Did you BF?
All 3 of them

What do you think helped you lose the weight?
dunno.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: I gained about 30 pounds with caleb
and 35 with jake

and about 45 with andrew

it came off slow the first time, and not completely before i got preg with jake...i didnt breast fed caleb.

i did with jake, and i lost the weight almost immediately, and i didnt watch what i ate and i lost all the time.

i lost 25 pounds right away with andrew, then stopped bfing and now its going so slow..

i also swear that bfing really takes the weight off

CantWait replied:
I gained about 25 lbs with both my pregnancies, if that.

I never did lose it all, unfortunetly I actually gained more after. I think that is due to PPD and birth control though.

Much harder with the second.

Natural.

I breastfeed with the second, but not with the first. So that whole adage of losing the weight when you bf wasn't true for me.

Danalana replied: At my 22 1/2 week appointment, I had only gained 4 pounds. I'm hoping to not gain much....I'm starting off "fluffy" anyway, so I don't need to gain much.
Ummmm, that's all the questions I can answer, except that I do plan on BFing.

Calimama replied: So how much did you gain?.. I don't remember I think around 20-30

How long did it take you to lose?.. about 4 months.

Was it harder the second time than with the first? Can't answer that

Was it a natural or C Section?- Natural

Did you BF?- No

What do you think helped you lose the weight?-.. my age?

bawoodsmall replied: Emily I gained 25
Aiden 35

Lost the weight within weeks for em.
Aiden still need to lose and hes 18 months sad.gif

BF both - but em was much better at it. Aiden never nursed well.

I do believe also that nursing helps take off the weight.

The only thing that took off the weight was the nursing. I honestly didnt work out and ate whatever. I was rather sad with Aiden because he was not the picture perfect baby so I ate all the time because we never did anything cuz he was either crying or puking.

He is my spitfire and I wouldnt have it any other way now.

Zander - 50 lbs
Zavier - 35 lbs

Zander took about 4 months, Zavier closer to a year

Zander was natural, Zavier was a ceseran

Breastfed Zander for 1 year, Zavier I pumped for about 5 months

I think breastfeeding was the big one for me. and with the cesearn it was harder because I wasn't active as quick, I didnt heal well at all and even now i still get pain. Not trying to freak you out , it was a rush job, the surgeon admitted she messed it up, thats why I had such a hard time.

Boo&BugsMom replied: So how much did you gain? Tanner, 30...Aiden 60! blink.gif

How long did it take you to lose? Tanner, right away, piece of cake! Aiden I still have about 10 to go dry.gif

Was it harder the second time than with the first? VERY MUCH SO!

Was it a natural or C Section? Both natural

Did you BF? Not at all with Tanner, I did for 1 week with Aiden

What do you think helped you lose the weight? Drinking lots of water, not over eating, eating healthier, walking

EDITED FOR WRONG WORD...I accidentally said "never eating". laugh.gif

Ryan- about 25
Aliyah- about 25
Mason- about 30

Lost it in a few months with both, Mason was the hardest- probably about 7-8 months for that one

Ryan- natural
Aliyah- natural
Mason- C-section

Ryan- bf for about 6 weeks
Aliyah- tried bf, but didn't work out so switched right away
Mason- did not bf

I think it helped to be SO busy with a newborn each time around, besides that I REALLY watched what I was eating and got back into an exercise/jog routine each time at about 6 weeks post-birth.

My2Beauties replied: So how much did you gain?

Exactly 35 pounds with both kiddos

How long did it take you to lose?

4 weeks after Hanna, I had a flat tummy and really still had nice muscle tone, only kept on about 2 pounds. I'm still not pre-preggo after Aubrey, I'm little don't get me wrong but my stomach is not flat, I have a little pooch going on there when I'm not sucking it in. I have about 10 pounds on me, I love the weight but I need to tone it up (my butt is nicer now and my thighs are fuller)

Was it harder the second time than with the first?
YES YES YES YES YES! Do you mean weight wise? Then all the yes's apply, if you mean labor wise, all the yes's still apply laugh.gif

Was it a natural or C Section?

Both natural

Did you BF?

Yes with both, Hanna for 6 weeks, Aubrey for 4 weeks

What do you think helped you lose the weight?

With Hanna I didn't do anything at all, I laid around and it still came off, I BF so that probably helped. With Aubrey I BF but it didn't work as well, I haven't done anything spectacular to keep weight off, I've been eating better lately but still eatings LOTS of better foods blush.gif doesn't help with the weight factor! LOL!
