I have a job interview - I am excited

amymom wrote: Hello all---
I have been job searching. My husband is self employed and the cost of health ins. is out of this world. I have had two interviews for a position (data processing) at a nearby university. I haven’t mentioned it since I really do not want to go to work, but must. Anyway I just got a call for a third meeting tomorrow. I really would like this job. The pay is ok, not great but ok, but it includes 100% paid for health benefits for me and partial paid for the family. A lot better than the $600 a month that we pay now. But here is the real reason I want the job: 100% Paid tuition at this university for my kids up to a Baccalaureate level. That is such a huge benefit. I think tuition is around $30,000 a year here. Anyway, I am only 4 yrs away from one in college and so it really would be a great benefit.

If I get the job I will post the name of the University. It is in Northern New York State, about 20 miles from home. But everything here is 20 miles from my house.

So would you all keep your fingers crossed and pray that they offer me the job tomorrow? TIA

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Crossing fingers and toes and saying lots of prayers for you!!

What AWESOME benefits!!!! thumb.gif I bet you will do great tomorrow!! biggrin.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: Wow.. I am telling that I have a child who is actually 2 and half years away.. and if I could get a job like that.. I would run and crawl to it. You would make way more money that way. It would be awesome...

Wow that suddenly makes $30,000 tho job with good health benefits worth 60 tho a year...

Like at it like a $30,000 pay increase in 4 years time.. no one gets that but you girl!

I hope you get that job if it's the one for you..

Good luck..

Mel

amymom replied: Thanks everyone! I will update tomorrow.

My3LilMonkeys replied: P & PT's that you get the job!!!! Free tuition is an AWESOME benefit!!

mom21kid2dogs replied: Best of luck! thumb.gif Hope you land the job! My sister and BIL both work for universities~tuition incentive is a big benefit!! I so hear you about health insurance! One of my husband's secretaries suggested to him last week that he should cover the part time secretary and her family (who happens to be his sister). Usually he tries to be rather diplomatic about stuff but told her "if I can't afford this plan for my family I certainly can't for hers." To add O and I would bump the coverage from 350 to 800 a month. Insane!!

CantWait replied: Sounds like awesome benefits....Good Luck on the job!!!!!!!!!! thumb.gif

amymom replied: Thanks so much everyone. I am off to the interview at 9am It is 8:10 now, then I have the doctor at 10:30am. I will update when I can.

Again THANK YOU

sunshine girls replied: Fingers crossed and goodluck. I hope you get the job. I'll be thinking of you.

amymom replied: So.... I had the job interview and I really was hoping that this was going to be the job offer, but , alas it was not. They asked a bunch of get to know you type quesitons and said they had narrowed it down to a few canidates and they would be in touch. So given I had high hopes I was disappointed. but still there is hope. I will probably not hear anything until next week now. Oh well, thanks everyone!!!!!
