I have U/S news

My2Beauties wrote: OK..so there's only one baby in there that they can see, so your alls jinxes didn't work laugh.gif I am 6 weeks and 1 day, my EDD is May 15, 2007. I heard the heartbeat and it was very very strong, which is a good sign. She also said my levels being high is a very good sign, at my last m/c I was 6 weeks and a couple of days and my level was nowhere near what it is now, which meant the baby had stopped developing earlier on. She said she still thinks my levels are a bit high to only be 6 weeks but some women just have higher hormone levels. There is still that small slight possiblity that there's another little one in there being shy and not coming out to show "themself" wub.gif but they have pretty much ruled it out for now! I have some pics but it's so funny, they had to do a vaginal u/s so there's all this black and white space of course which is the uterus and then there's this big black blob where the amniotic sac is she said and then there is this little itty bitty white blob at the upper left hand part of the sac and that's baby! I saw the heartbeat on the monitor because the skin is so thin right now, "he" is pretty much transparent and I could see it beating! I keep saying to myself over and over the heartbeat is so strong, which makes me feel so much better! All of my worries have pretty much drained because I saw "him" alive and well and heart beating. I remebered Hanna's heartbeat being a bit faster, I know girls have faster heartbeats, so I'm hanging on to that right now as my justification for saying it's a boy wink.gif tongue.gif Hanna's was so rapid and this one's is more relaxed and not as fast! I am so giddy right now, it's so cute even though I couldn't really see a whole lot just hearing and seeing the "blob" on the screen made my day! wub.gif

FWIW, both my girls heart rates were at different beats so it wasn't an easy way to tell. happy.gif

luvmykids replied: wub.gif Congrats, glad everything is good in your tummy!

This may be a dumb question, but could the high horomone levels be because it's a boy? Someone told me once that and I never did find out if it was true or not.

Ooh another reason for me to think it's a boy - no seriously I have no idea, but you're making me want to go google it, so I think I will wink.gif

kimberley replied: wub.gif glad it went well! i am still betting on twins tho tongue.gif tongue.gif

My2Beauties replied: So I googled and it said nothing about the hormone levels being higher when it's a boy, it did say extremely high HCG levels in early pregnancy can mean Down Syndrome unsure.gif unsure.gif which is what I get for going on the internet and researching stuff rolleyes.gif It did also say that some women can just have really high hormone levels just naturally, it does mean that a high hormone level indicates a strong pregnancy and lower HCG levels normally indicate problematic pregnancies or ones that will ultimately end in m/c, which my levels were low last time now that I see the levels I have now. See I didn't hear what any of my levels were for Hanna because that wasn't an issue at all, they didn't tell me what they were, they were just "normal!" I just hate reading stuff like that, about the Down's, but I read so many things that scared the you know what out of me when I was preggers with Hanna and she turned out perfectly fine!

CantWait replied: hug.gif hug.gif I'm so happy you got to see your little "guy" and hear his heartbeating. It's not silly to be so giddy at all.

Enjoy your next 8 months....only 8 months left. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: thumb.gif I'm glad to hear all is well! hug.gif I don't remember - is 6 weeks further along than you had figured or were your dates right? I wouldn't worry about the high levels being a bad sign (stupid internet always causes more trouble and anxiety than it's worth wink.gif tongue.gif) just take it as a good sign that everything is going wonderfully and the baby is super strong! thumb.gif wub.gif Congrats!

BAC'sMom replied: hug.gif

My2Beauties replied:
About 2 weeks further than they had originally thought, I honestly thought I was even further than that, but I only wanted to be able to tell people I was further along when they noticed I was "pooching" a bit laugh.gif
