I hate birth control

A&A'smommy wrote: I don't even know why I decided to go back on it... it makes me SOO moody.. REALLY bad like completly depressed one day to where all i want to do is sleep and cry and the next day I'm fine. I'm on month 2 and the only benefit was having a lighter and less painful af sleep.gif which right before I started bc my afs were getting pretty bad and irregular (which is NOT like me). And Jeremiah noticed this AND he said I have been more tired and I thought about it and I have been.. So I'm going to call the nurse tomorrow and ask them if they can give me a lower dose for next month and then if that still doesn't help I'm just going to go back off of it again we were doing fine without it... sad.gif anyway I just wanted to rant a little bit...

~Roo'sMama~ replied: hug.gif Sorry Jessy, that sounds awful. I've never been on BC so I don't know what it's like ~ I do know what mood swings and being depressed is like though! hug.gif I hope it gets better. hug.gif hug.gif

luvbug00 replied: icky stuff those birth control hormones... Hence I will not use them. I hope they give you somthing to suit you better. hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: hug.gif I hope they give you one that works better for you. hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: hug.gif I'm sorry. sad.gif It does the same thing to me. I can't take it.

Kaitlin'smom replied: hug.gif I tried them one to help regulate me, did not work, gained weight, gave me bad acne, very moody, I hated them wont ever do it again.

hug.gif sorry hun sound like you either do need to go off them or try something else

ammommy replied: Have you tried the Nuva Ring? I'm one of those that had bad side effects with pills even though I kept taking them, and I've had no side effects with it.
hug.gif Hope you find something that works.

CAMSMOM1 replied: I can't stand BC!!! dry.gif I'm like you, I get all kinds of side effects. (weight gain, acne, crazy mood swings, depression, lost my hair!!!) wacko.gif I've tried the shot & the pill. I dont' want an IUD, I've heard horror stories about it. And we're doing fine just using a condom.

I can relate. Do what works for you. And it doesn't sound like this type of birthcontrol is right for you.

Hope you find something that works for you, and you don't have to deal with those crazy side effects. hug.gif

Chiflata2003 replied: That's why I'm trying to lose as much weight as I can before I get pregnant so I can be a good candiate for the patch.

1lilpeanut2love replied: the patch is not good either.... I saw reports of people having bad, bad side effects from them. I even saw a commercial here in MD for a law firm-- telling people to call them if they have used the patch because of what it can do to women--clots, etc. That is quite scary.

kayla's mama replied: I have the same problem with BC. I can't take them either. Even though Dr. say that being on BC does not have an effect on fertility I really think it does. Thats another reason why I don't take them.

A&A'smommy replied:
VERY true I'm scared of the patch I had a friend in the past that had HORRIBLE panic attacks on it.. they were so bad she was in the hospital from hyperventilation

Jecka replied: If I ever find a new man (help a newbie out, would ya? wink.gif ) and get remarried, I'm not doing the pill again. I got pregnant 2 months after we got married, and had never been on the pill before. After I had Andrew, I got on ortho-tricyclen and didn't go off of it until a month before I got separated- 4 years later. I finally talked to my doctor, told her how miserable I was, how MOODY I was, and that I needed something (thinking an anti-depressant, which I was on for 6 months when Andrew was 1 - could have been leftover PPD, could have been the pill hormones, could have been me just overwhelmed). Instead of writing me a Rx for an anti-depressant, she changed my pill. I thought hmmm that's interesting. A month later my husband and I separated, so I stopped taking the pill. I'm still not sure if it was getting rid of the pill, or getting rid of the husband, but I got a LOT better, especially around PMS time. I've still got some pretty bad mood swings around that time, but not nearly as bad. So I've sworn that if and when I'm faced with needing bc again, it won't be the pill, just in case that was my problem for so long.

My2Beauties replied: I might be a bit late, I didn't see when you posted this but if it makes you feel better I do the same thing on BC. I started taking them again after my m/c but I have been so bad about remembering, I think I have maybe taken 4 in the past 7 days. They give me headaches, I have terrible terrible mood swings, when I stopped my pill back in Novmber or December (whenever it was), I didn't hardly ever cry as much. Every little thing made me cry whenever I was on the pill but after I stopped I was fine. It was so weird. I had a better attitude and outlook on things. My m/c on the other hand caused my hormones to go insanely crazy but now I'm back on track, because I haven't been taking my pills like I should. Try taking them at night, they may help a bit, but I'm not sure.

ilovemybaby replied: I had to stop taking b/c altogether because it doesn't matter which one I take they all give me cramps and diarrheoa and headaches. And my period every two weeks. blink.gif
I sure hope Paul will agree to a Vasectomy after we are finished having kids. Because I sure don't want to get my tubes tied. I am a scaredy cat. And it is so much easier for them. They can go in and 15 minutes later come out and go back to work. They just have a little swelling and they can take meds for the pain. Whereas for us it is so much harder.

ilovemybaby replied: I have heard horror stories about everything except the patch. Only because I haven't known anyone on the patch.

I heard about a girl who had a stroke after having a b/c shot.

All the forms of b/c (medications) have all the same risks. If you smoke or have family history of blood clots etc... you are at more risk.

Since coming of b/c I read that some b/cs do not actually stop eggs from being fertilized. So you can get pregnant and then lose the fetus because the b/c stops eggs attaching or they don't attach so therefore they are expelled like when you have your period.
And with IUDs they do something similar. You can still get pregnant and the egg just doesn't attach to the wall.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I was doing the shot and it made me gain weight and those other crazy side affects. After DS was born I got the Mirena IUD and have had no problems with it. I havent heard any horror stories about them, they have been around for a long time.

Mirena may:
Keep sperm from reaching and fertilizing eggs
Thin the lining of your uterus
Stop your ovaries from releasing eggs

It is there for 5 years and then replaced after that, and may be taken out if we decide to have a baby before the 5 years is up.

Kated replied: Oh that stinks I hope that you can find the right one for you and it gets better!

I ahd to try like 6 diff. ones before I got one that was good. On emade me such a nut My husband was ready to kill my doctor for putting me on them.

luvmykids replied: The worst thing about the shot for me was it was awful and there's nothing you can do but wait it out!

Birth control was a HUGE reason I had my tubes tied.
