I got a new job!

Hours are M-F from 4pm-9pm, one weekend every 8 weeks and rotating holidays (1 in every 6-7 or so). They called today to tell me I got the job! I am SO relieved and excited, I get to tell my boss to go blow it out his butt today when I get there. Hehehe! Well, I will still be professional about it, but I still get to say "SEE YA"!!! The hours are more than what I get now, PLUS I get benefits (PTO and all that jazz) AND the best part....I will be making $4 more per hour than I do not. Right now I make $10, and they are starting me at $14.10. I am SO SUPER EXCITED!!!!!! I have been trying to find a new job since I got the one I have now, because it has never been enough for us to make ends meet. Hopefully this one will allow us to not have to worry about how to pay our bills every month.

That is pretty much what I work now, so it wont be much different and I'm use to it. I'm not use to working weekends, but 1 weekend out of every 8 is easy peasy. Only thing is I have off on Thursdays right now, but I am willing to sacrifice my Thursdays since during the school year that is when Troy and Tanner are both at church at Awana anyways. Although, I did/do like the alone time to myself...sitting in a nice quiet house after Aiden goes to bed, all by myself. I wish I could work during the day, but to me it makes no sense to work full time and pay daycare expenses, when I could work part time and bring home more $$$ and be home with my children.

I am just in awe of how much more $$$ I will be bringing home. I work 18 hours now, and with the extra hours (25 a week) and the pay raise, I will be grossing DOUBLE what I do now. This is definitly an answered prayer that we have been praying about for a long time now.

By the way Christine, we have a friend who works 4 on and 2 off and has the same kind of schedule as your hubby. I agree, it sucks. She complains about it all the time. She's a dispatcher for the police department. I don't know why they set the schedule up like that. She does work 1st shift, but for a long time she worked 3rd which made it even worse.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Thanks everyone! I am starting early than I thought. I will be starting on the 7th now. Woo hoo. I told my boss Monday about me leaving. He was quite surprised and didn't like what I told him, but he understood...so he says.
