I forget the recipe - ??
moped wrote: So I HAD this great recipe for fruit salsa, I remember some ingredients but not all.....I did a search and thought maybe it was on PC here but no luck. Anyways, with a food chopper it was a frozen bag of 3 different fruits, a kiwi, and a can of peaches and I KNOW I am missing some ingredients, maybe a lime or something.
They are served with sugar and cinnimon tortilla slices - they are delicious
So anyone know what recipe I would be referring to??
lisar replied: I dont know it but now I want it
grapfruit replied: No but it sounds incredible! Once you figure it out let me know...
could be you're missing lemon juice. A lot of times fruit receipes call for it b/c it keeps everything from turning brown...dunno though!
luvmykids replied: Is it this one? 2 kiwis, peeled and diced 2 Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored and diced 8 ounces raspberries 1 pound strawberries 2 tablespoons white sugar 1 tablespoon brown sugar 3 tablespoons fruit preserves, any flavor 10 (10 inch) flour tortillas butter flavored cooking spray 2 cups cinnamon sugar
DIRECTIONS: 1. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, Golden Delicious apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar and fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 3. Coat one side of each flour tortilla with butter flavored cooking spray. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle wedges with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Spray again with cooking spray. 4. Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Allow to cool approximately 15 minutes. Serve with chilled fruit and spice mixture.
eta: nope, not it. no peaches and no food chopper. But it sounded good
lisar replied: Okay that sounds good.
hoosier momma replied: That recipe sounds delicious Monica! I will have to try it out.
moped replied: No it isn't - I saw that one, but this one is no sugar but it is quite sweet naturally....I will track it down for you guys - I promise
grapfruit replied: Must be lunch time b/c all that sounds REALLY REALLY good....salivating on my key board here!!!
Calimama replied: That sounds awesome!! I think I may have to use that for a BBQ this weekend.
CantWait replied: I would think any fruit salsa wouldn't be fruit salsa without mango.
luvmykids replied: I think the majority of the ones with mango are truer salsas, meaning spicy. The one she's looking for is sweet, I think more like a fruit salad you eat with cinnamon chips.
Jenn, did you ever find it?
A&A'smommy replied: for curiosity
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Oooh I have one that's similar. Give me a couple of minutes.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Frozen fruit salsa Mix small pieces of peaches, kiwi, and raspberries with lime juice, lime zest, and a little sugar. Serve with tortillas, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, cut into wedges, and baked until crispy
Here's another that I use, with salmon
Fruit Salsa 1 lb. frozen or refrigerated mango chunks or peaches, diced 4 kiwi fruit, peeled and diced 1/3 cup red onion, finely diced 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped coarse or 1 Tablespoon dried cilantro 1/4 cup fresh lime juice 1 teaspoon peanut or extra virgin olive oil
Monica, isn't that "Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips" from Allrecipes? I use that one sometimes too.
here's another one, too.
Ingredients: Cinnamon Chips:
1 tlbsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon 4 (7 inch) flour tortillas
Salsa Ingredients:
1 cup frozen raspberries 2 peaches, peeled and chopped 2 kiwis, peeled, sliced and quartered 1 tsp. lime zest 2 tsp. lime juice 1 tsp. sugar
Directions: For cinnamon chips, preheat oven to 400 F. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Spray tortillas lightly with water, then sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Using a pizza cutter, cut each tortilla into 8 wedges. Place in a single layer on a flat baking stone. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp. Remove to nonstick cooling rack and cool completely.
Meanwhile, place all salsa ingredients in a bowl and mix gently. Serve with cinnamon chips.
Yield: 2 cups salsa and 32 chips
moped replied: OK I did remember it....I amde it last weekend with cinnamon sugar tortillas
With a chopper.......
One Kiwi One can peaches bag of frozen fruit (blackberries, blueberries, starberries) I don't use a whole bag though a few squeezes of lime and some greated lime rind
Stir it up
SOOOO GOOD YOU GUYS
The tortillas, just preheat to 350, brush melted butter on tortillas, then shake your sugar cinn. mixture and cut with pizza cutter, bake for 8 min or until they look done
luvmykids replied: It's from allrecipes but I don't remember the name...probably.
moped replied: Yeah i saw that one - it wasn't the same........but the one above is right and good!
