I don't think SIL will be adopting the baby - 15yo pg neice update

amynicole21 wrote: My BIL and SIL were planning on adopting the soon-to-be-born child of our 15yo neice who is due on Christmas day. They had been working with lawyers getting everything drawn up for weeks now. Yesterday, SIL got a call from the 15yo's mom saying she didn't think she could go through with giving the baby up. The 15yo is still for it, but I think her Mom has been taking a lot of flack from the rest of the family about not raising her grandchild herself and she is having second thoughts. I guess that we should be glad that it happened now rather than 6 weeks after the baby was born or something, but it still breaks my heart. SIL and BIL wanted this baby so badly. I think that in the back of her mind, SIL knew this would happen. She hadn't bought a single thing for the baby yet, just in case. I hope that everything works out for this baby. sleep.gif

I couldn't have said it any better.

P&PT's. Please keep us posted.

jem0622 replied: I am sorry that it is not going as they hoped. It is a very tough decision to make and many times birthmothers and their families do not have the heart to go through with placing the child. I would urge your inlaws to consider foster parenting. There are so many foster kids out there who need homes and can be adopted also.

A&A'smommy replied: I don't think ANYONE should be giving the grandmother grief over this if anything they should be happy FOR the baby!!!! I hope everything still works out for them so they can adopt the baby!!!

amynicole21 replied:
BIL works as a councelor in the foster system, so this may be a possibility. Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. wub.gif
