I didn't have dinner last night.... - ...and now I'm starving!!!

This morning, I'm STARVING!!! I had a glass of OJ at home at 7:50, 2 eggos at work around 9, and now I'm eating an apple.
Usually I don't have breakfast, and if I do, it's a piece or two of toast and coffee. I cut out the coffee, since I don't want to drink coffee while preggers, and lately the toast just wasn,t doing it for me, so I'd have soup around 11, then a snack around 3, then dinner at 6.
Have you ever noticed that the more you eat for breakfast, the more you eat all day? If I skip breakfast, I have a lighter lunch, and only 1 plate for dinner. if I have breakfast, I'm having a snack at 10:30, a heavier lunch, a snack aroune 3 or 3:30, then a bigger dinner, then a snack during the evening.
Ugh.
Well at least I'm eating healthy....
jdkjd replied: If I don't get a chance to eat at night-I have a PB & J...ate them all the time when preggers...
Maybe you could try that next time instead of the pickle, doesn't sound like it did you much good.
Unless you had it with some ice cream....
MommyToAshley replied: No more skipping meals, but you're off the hook this time since you made up for it during breakfast.
SO, how are you feeling? Any morning sickness? Glad to see that you are able to eat this morning...that's good.
Aren't you just sooo excited??? You have a baby growing inside you!!!
ediep replied: thats funny.....I never ate pb&j until I was pregnant than I ate it every day
MommyToAshley replied: I loved PB&J when I was PG too... LOL too funny! I still get a craving for it now and then. I never really ate it before I got PG either.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well I've been TRYING to eat healthy balanced meals. I figure that if I have oatmeal or toast in the morning (which generally is all my stomach can handle - morning and food don't mix in my belly), then noodle soup with some fruit for lunch, and some meat and veggies with either rice or potatoes for dinner, I'm good to go. I bought a bunch of stuff that can be snack food - like carrots, celery, strawberries, animal crackers, yogurt, pickles, cheese....instead of the junk I usually have (ice cream bars, chips, cookies....chocolate...mmmm chocolate......lol)
so I'm really trying. My goal is to not put on more than 20 pounds. I'm only supposed to gain around 25 anyways, but since I'm overweight (not by too much though... only 40 pounds) I,m only suposed to gain 15 pounds. I'm aiming for the middle ground. Of course, I'mnot going to diet while preggo, so if I gain more I gain more, but I'm trying to watch what I eat.
I don't really have any morning sickness. I've felt a little dizzy at times, but I haven't gotten sick or anything. I,ve been really *moody* though, according to my DH.... he tells me he wants to slap me sometimes, because I just don't give it up. lol! Of course he'd never actually slap me though! heh heh!
I'm SOOO excited. I jsut want to tell EVERYONE!!! I've only told my dad and my sister in law so far though, I don't really want to get it out there just yet, because of people's reactions. They were so dissapointed in me because of Zach, and now having another one this close? I'm still only 20! My mom's going to have a bird, I know it.... lol oh well!!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied:
yep, glad to see I am not the only one! Or if I have to eat really early I am more hungry all day, but if I can eat breakfast later I am not so hungry all day!
so I am trying to eat a later breakfast, got to shed some more weight!
Schnoogly replied: Good luck only gaining 15-20 lbs, but don't hate yourself if you gain more!!!
I started about 50lbs overweight, give or take (depending on whose chart="normal") and I got the big lecture from the midwives about weight gain. I only gained about 3 lbs the first 4 months, but then I was starting to get dizzy all the time and they told me to eat more, esp. protein snacks that would stick with me. So I did!!!! And I gained about 8-10lbs a month from then on I did try to exercise, but my regular gym workout that helped me lose weight before PG was impossible--I was so tired I could hardly move in first trimester. That was my major symptom. I did a lot of yoga once I got a little more energy, but I was tired the whole time. I think the yoga really helped with my labor though--he was "sunny side up" but I managed to push him out anyway so avoided a c-section. I think my yoga practice really helped w/this.
So now I have a lot to lose, but I don't think you should worry too much about it!!!
Steph
Schnoogly replied: Well, don't skip breakfast! When I lost 40lbs before I was PG the first thing I did was start eating breakfast--I never used to eat until lunch, sometimes later, and by then I was so hungry I pigged out in the late afternoon & evening--not good. The key for me was making sure I got some protein for breakfast, not just carbs (bread). Bread won't stick to you and you'll be hungry again right away. So yogurt is good (in smoothies!) or an egg with an english muffin, etc. I learned a lot about what I should be eating when I dieted before--I just can't seem to put it into practice now!!
Steph
Kaitlin'smom replied: I am not skipping just (trying) eating a little later, so I dont pig out at lunch or dinner. If I do eat to early I tend to want to pig out later, I am usually pretty good about controlling it, unless I am really hungry the i go for yougart or carrots something 'healthy' but not always! Oh well I only have about 8-10 preg weight then about 10-15 more that I want to lose. So 18- 25 total. not to bad.
momofajcl replied: Tisk, tisk! No more skippin' meals! What about just eating some fruit for breakfast? Make yourself a little fruit salad and mix some vanilla or plain low or non-fat yogurt w/the fruit. One of my favorites!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yeah. Even before I knew we were pg, I started eating better. My typical eating day was this:
Breakfast: Coffee, 2 toast with Kraft slice of cheese on each
Lunch: A bowl of soup, coffee
Dinner: portion of meat, 1/3 plate of veggies, 1/3 plate of either pasta or rice or potato (usually mashed or baked), can of pop
***************
Now, I try to add a fruit at lunch, I cut out both coffees, drink OJ in morning and pleanty of water at lunch time (and throughout the day) and a glass of milk at dinner instead of pop. If I get hungry in between meals, I'll have 1/2 an apple, or some carrot sticks, or a pickle, or about an ounce of cheese, or a yogurt.....
I'm just so HUNGRY!!!!!
I think for dinner tonight I'll make some chicken cacciatore. yum!
