Crystalina replied: LOL You don't turn it off you just unplug the ear buds. THen you can plug them back in.
luvmykids replied: Learn something new everyday around here
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Oh.
But I've turned it off before..............................
Maybe I just ran out of electric juice.
Crystalina replied: THe little slide thing at the bottom is not to turn it off it's just to lock it so if you have it in your purse or something the songs won't change or turn on or whatever. You must have just run out of power last time because the only way I know to do it is unplug the ear buds and plug them back in. Sometimes if you plug them back in too quickly it will still be on.
Calimama replied: I just stop using it.. I never turn it off..
luvmykids replied: Rocky, which one do you have? I have not the new nano but the one before that and it does turn off by holding down the center of the dial...
Crystalina replied: OH yeah, I should have clarified that I have one of the new Nanos so it could be different.
MommyToAshley replied: That's better than the problem DH had the other day... his wouldn't turn on.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: And how the heck do I delete all the CRAP dh put on here?! He went and put 4 freakin gigs of music on here in NO ORDER WHATSOEVER
Crystalina replied: You can just delete those songs from you iTunes and then re-sync with the songs you want.
Crystalina replied: It sounds like it has to be reset.
1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
This will work.
Anthony275 replied: at least your headphone jack didnt break and only get sound through the left side!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Oh I was letting go when the screen went black.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Nope...just turns itself on again and again
Hillbilly Housewife replied: i have the 4G ipod nano, apple
Crystalina replied: Do you mean the light is still coming on or the music is still playing? Mine will still have the light on for a minute or so before it turns off all the way but my music stops.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I mean OFF off. no music, no light, nothing. It "sleeps"...but if I touch it the lights come back on.
Crystalina replied:
Don't touch it!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: It turned off somewhere between me posting in different threads...cuz i picked it up and went to try again, and it was off.
Go figure.
luvmykids replied: Don't you wish you knew WHY though?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: yes
grapfruit replied: I have an iPod nano and I turn it off all the time. I just make sure it's not on "hold" (top slider thing) and then hold down the play/pause on the wheel. (bottom) for like 3 seconds and it turns off. Then to get it to turn on I press the middle button. If I want to make sure it won't turn back on I turn it back on "hold".
Try that!
