I can't believe it! I don't like EBAY.
coasterqueen wrote: DH and I have been wanting to get Kylie a playhouse for her birthday but don't really want to pay full price for one. So we have our name on a list at a consignment shop for one, but the list is so long I don't think we'll ever get one that way. I've checked EBAY several times for one to where I can go pick it up. I'm not willing to drive north, but I'm willing to drive south, it's a bit closer for us.
WELL...I finally found one in an area I can drive to and bid on it last night. Someone tried to outbid me 1/2 hour before it closed today but I rebid. All of a sudden in the last literally SECONDS of the auction someone who hadn't even bid before came out of nowhere and bid $1 above my final bid and WON before I got a chance to rebid.
Grrr. It took me months to find one close to my area. I guess there is still time, but I was so excited about this one
amynicole21 replied: Grrr! That is so frustrating I'm sorry. Keeping my fingers crossed that something else comes up soon!
DansMom replied: That stinks!!!! I know, those things cost a fortune. We saw a used one at a yardsale and couldn't afford it!
MommyToAshley replied: That sucks.... obviously this person had that planned. Grrr!
I am sorry, but maybe you will find a better one.
paradisemommy replied: there is a whole system for ebay junkies..my husband has his own down where he won't bid until the last minute of the sale..you just keep refreshing the screen and when it gets down to like 30 seconds, you put in your max bid that you would want to pay for it and hopefully that is the highest dollar amount..it goes in increments so even if you bid say $40 and the highest bid is $25, you will win it at the $25 - they won't charge you your max bid..it gets pretty addicting and exciting bidding on stuff. but really frustrating when you don't win..
ediep replied: aww that stinks! I really think Jason would love a play house for his birthday too, but I was thinking of asking my family to give him gift cert to toy r us so I can combine my money with their gift cert and get one. we'll see. Good luck
3_call_me_mama replied: Dh has told me that there are people tha twrite adn use/sell software that will bid for you while you are not even online, and tehy are programmed to wait until the last second to bid so that the chance of you winning is next to none. I guess he knows someone that bought the software. I had it happen to me when I was bidding on something and there was like 5 seconds left adn i clicked refresh adn it said i was the high bidder and then i went ot my ebay to pay for it and I had been out bid at the very second the auction ended..... I WAS SOOO MAD!!!! I t was something I had been looking fo rfor a while too. THis is when DH told me about the software, which made me even more mad! It is supposed to be a fair auction, not a cheating game!!!
Mom2Boyz replied: I hate it when that happens!!!!! But I must admit I've done the same thing Sorry you didn't get it. Maybe you can find another one soon.
momof2girls replied: Those things are sooo expensive, the same as someone else already said I saw one at a yard sale and even at half price they are sooo expensive... that is the think with ebay.
Have you thought about DH building her one? You guys seem like your so good at all that stuff I know your busy with the house and stuff but just a thought.
That is what Im gonna ask DH to do when Kiley gets older.
coasterqueen replied: That was another thought. I always wanted Ryan to build her her own little playhouse but I have visions that are way too expensive. ROFL. So buying the LT one is probably less expensive for us.
Actually the LT playhouse I'm looking at isn't too bad used. They are around $100 or less. I lost that one by a $1 and I would have only paid $60 for it . That was a steal in my opinion. Oh well.
momof2girls replied: That does stink I hope you find another one...
kimberley replied: ugh that sucks! that has happened to me more times than i'd like to admit, so if it is something i really want, i make sure i am online during the last minute. i even made a bid with 30 seconds left thinking i got the outfit, but that was enough time for someone else to hit refresh and outbid me by a dollar hope you find another one. have you looked in your local paper or yard sales? good luck!
coasterqueen replied: I have looked in my local paper and nothing. People are really good around here about taking them to consignment shops or selling at garage sales. The problem with garage sales is you have to be there right when they open to get it and a lot of times they don't advertise that they will have one at their sale. So it's a lucky chance if you get to one and there is one there.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I am sorry that happend, we have had the same thing happen to us, DH lost something by $1 and it was extremly hard to find. I hope you find another one at a better price!
