I can't believe he got these

mckayleesmom replied: Hampsters are good pets....I LOVED my hampster , her name was Peaches and she followed me around like a dog. I got her at the pet store and she had been previously owned and was the friendliest little thing. Four days after I had her...she had 10 babies....my mom almost passed out...Then the whole family got into them. Even my mom . I miss her..she was playing with the cat one day (yes..they got along) and she got under the door jam and outside...it was cold out and she froze to death...how tragic is that?

I had a long line of hamsters in my youth... each lasting about a month at a time... they usually don't live that long (except for that one that lived 2 years!). Maybe your problem will be over with before you know it

punkeemunkee'smom replied: We planned on getting a bunny for Easter then thought hampster but ended up with a guinea pig named Floppy! Hampsters are great pets for kids who are a little older but the guinea pig was bigger and not so easy to hold too tight! She LOVES him and I must admit he has grown on me too!They make really funny sounds-I hope your new family members have good tempraments! I had hampsters growing up and always loved them!

TeagansMom609 replied: DH bought one for my step kids last year to keep at our house for when they came over. Well the thing drove us insane!! We didnt realize they are nocturnal. This darn thing would go on its wheel evernight and run a marathon!! It was SO loud we had to eventually take it back to the petstore and tell the kids it died. Horrible I know, but it was easier for them to accept rather then saying we returned it.
