cameragirl21 replied: I am so sorry for your loss, Carrie, I know how hard it is, I have been there. What kind of dog was he? Maybe you and the girls could make a sort of memorial for him by making a collage out of pictures you have of him? I know it's hard, take care.
CantWait replied: I'm so sorry. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet.

aspenblue1 replied: Aspen is a Siberian Husky. He was the best dog with kids and other dogs nothing fazed. I have a scrapbook started of him around here but I don't think I can look at the pics right now.
cameragirl21 replied: Siberian Huskies are so beautiful. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss, animals understand us in a way that people never will and really I think people underestimate the human/animal bond. Take some time to heal as a family and then maybe work on a scrapbook with the girls or some sort of project where you feel you can properly honor him. I really hope you find peace and remember that Aspen is still with you even though you can't see him. You also may want to check out this website http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm Also this is one of my favorite sayings and maybe it will bring you some comfort as a person who gave a dog a wonderful life: There is an Indian legend which says: "When a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into heaven. At the head of that bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based upon what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge...and which are turned away." Gosh, Carrie, I am seriously bawling right now, I feel so bad for you...my having to put my beloved cat to sleep in June is still fresh in my mind and even when we had to put my childhood German Shepherd to sleep because he couldn't walk anymore (hip problems that are common to GSDs). I want to say I hope you feel better but I know those are hollow words. Just know that Aspen will always be with you and your family in spirit. Take care, your whole family will be in my prayers. And please feel free to pm me if you want to talk.
