I am SOOOO proud of myself
Mom2Boyz wrote: As bad as I hate to admit it, I never totally quit smoking when I was pg or after Conner was born I tried and tried, but I just could not do it. Well, I'm proud to say that I have not had a cigarette in 3 weeks!!!!! I don't know what happend, but I was finally able to just stop. I'm so proud of myself, I just had to share it with someone
My2Beauties replied: Congratulations WTG Im so proud of you!
DansMom replied: Congrats to you!! I quit about six years ago after 18 years of smoking. You've gotten through the worst of it, addiction-wise, EXCEPT if you go out to the bar with old chums who still smoke be so very careful not to think "I can have just one or two and just when I'm out like this with friends". Your brain will try to lure you back with rationalizations like that.
If you're like me, you'll have dreams in which you are smoking, even years later. And in the dream you'll be enjoying the smoke and then you'll be horrified when you realize what you've done, then wake up relieved that it wasn't real LOL!
Congrats again!! It's so liberating---no frantic searching for lighters or matches, no standing on balconies in winter, etc., not to mention that your lungs are healing as we speak.
Kaitlin'smom replied: good for you. congrats
I will admit I tried smoking but never got addicted, did not apeal to me, I could not stand the tase of it, or the smell after wards so I never got hooked, I have on occasion been wanting one when I am very stressed out, but I usually find something else to do
Kathy replied: Good for you! Sending some non smoking vibes my way! DH has smoked for 24 years.
3xsthefun replied: Congrats! I too have not had a cigarette in 3 weeks maybe a month actually I don't remember . I hope to keep it up. I have to say though for some reason they make me feel sick now. Which is not a bad thing.
I hope that you can keep it up for Connor.
Alice replied: I've never smoked, so I have no real idea of how awful it is to stop. But from everything I've heard, it's incredibly difficult. So congratulations!! Now go out and do something wonderful for yourself as a treat. Spend 2-3 weeks worth of cigarette money on something self-indulgent-- you deserve it!!!
A&A'smommy replied: I'm SO happy for you I know you must be feeling great! Now where do I start?
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Good For You! That is so wonderful that you were able to quit just like that! Keep up the good work!
Josie83 replied: Well done Amy! We're so proud of you! xx
coasterqueen replied: That's awesome!!!! You SHOULD be proud of yourself. I quit when I got pg with Kylie and it's appealing to me every day but I stay away!
amynicole21 replied: CONGRATULATIONS!! Woo hoo!! I personally know how hard it is to quit. I haven't had one for 8 months now
I agree with Tracy - NEVER allow yourself to have "just one" because you'll be back into it in the blink of an eye
aspenblue1 replied: Congratulations!
MomofJandB replied: Great job! My husband and I are "yoyo" quitters! We will quit for months at a time and do exactly what everyone is telling you not too! We would smoke when we were with friends or having a drink. Soon it led to only in the evening, then we were back again to full time! Don't give in! I felt so much better not smoking and had so much more energy! I hope to take inspiration from you and quit again for good! Gotta talk DH into doing it with me! Keep up the good work! Just come and post anytime you want one!!!
