Hurricane Gustav

Our Lil' Family wrote: Well, looks like we'll be getting this one! The NOAA track shows it heading right for LA on Monday....just as we'll be driving back from Arkansas. I told DH he can come home, if it's headed here I'm staying put! Although the Gulf Coast folks know anything is possible once it reaches the warm Gulf waters. We'll be keeping a close eye on this one while we are away.

BAC'sMom replied: I'm watching it too honey sad.gif

I'll be praying for you and I both. wink.gif

lisar replied: Yea I am watching this one closely also. Right now it could go just about anywhere.

Everyone stay safe.

MommyToAshley replied: Oh goodness... I hope you all stay safe. hug.gif

luvmykids replied: Oh no, that would be hard to know one may hit while you're away. Stay safe and keep us posted hug.gif hug.gif

Crystalina replied: Stay safe and check in! hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

redchief replied: I hope it blows itself out before it hits anyone.

Swood75 replied: I hope none of the reminents of it come this way..We just got through the reminents of TS Fay and ended up having tornadoes touch down about 15-20 mins from us..(right around where my Dr office is) The only good that DID come from it was all the rain we got that was MUCH needed..We got about 5" from it..Stay safe everyone!! hug.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: We are watching this one as well. sleep.gif

holley79 replied: We are watching it as well. You never know what he will do once he hits those warm waters. We have gas for generators, plenty of food, ice and water.

Calimama replied: As much as I loved CC I don't miss that one bit. Tons of prayers for everyone.

Bamamom replied: I hear ya. I'm not sure my parents can emotionally take another big one. Katrina did more damage in that way than it did physically - and they lost half their house in Katrina. You should have seen them preparing for Fay last week. Like it was a Cat 5 instead of a Tropical Storm. Made me kind of sad to see them scared like that ya know? I understand it but it's soooo unlike them.

Our Lil' Family replied: Stores are already selling out of water and batteries. I'm not so worried about water but I did get a few packs of batteries. Luckily we found some on the end caps of the toy aisles!
The newest track shows it pushing east of us, more towards MS and AL....Y'all watch out over there in Bamaland.

Here's the NOAA link

A&A'smommy replied:
oh goodness yes we got about 8inches of rain from fay, I'm SOOO sick of rain. Hopefully Gustav will be harmless

A&A'smommy replied:
awwww man really!!! Fay JUST finally got done giving us rain yesterday i'm SOOOO sick of rain rolleyes.gif

lisar replied:
Yea I live in Florida so no matter where it goes we will still get the rain. Everyone cross their fingers it doesn't hit and it just magically disappears.

BAC'sMom replied: Great now there is Hannah too. unsure.gif

mommymommy replied: I hope you all are safe! I wish for the best!!

Our Lil' Family replied: Well I'm heading out for the weekend, don't know when I'll be back. We're supposed to drive home Monday but with Gustav expected to make landfall here Tues. morn I'm not sure where we'll be. DH has to come home for work, he's on call starting Tuesday but I don't have to and I might just stay in AR....we'll see.

Everyone stay safe, I'll have my eyes glued to the tv every chance I get this weekend I'm sure.

lisar replied: Yea and Hannah is comming right at me now.

BAC'sMom replied:
Stay safe girl and check in when you can.

Gas prices have already jumped. This morning it was $3.34 now it is $3.49 huh.gif

BabyOwen427 replied: Yeah, we're watching it too. DH's unit is on stand-by to move into Lousiana if it's as bad as Katrina was.

hug.gif hug.gif to all you who live in the area.

Cece00 replied: We're preparing here. Its basically coming right at our city, it should be going up the vermillion bay (where my ex lives) and to us, the eye will pass basically RIGHT next to us, and of course the eye and the right side and the worst parts. growl.gif Its probably going to be like the one we got about 5.5 yrs ago here, maybe a little worse. That was extremely unpleasant. But at least we didnt flood. I'm a little more worried about that this time...

Hopefully we wont be without power for a week like with that last one that hit almost directly here...

They turned the interstate & other roads to contraflow @ 4 am this morning so you can only go east (from new orleans) or north (from here)....you cant come into where I live or go south where they are doing mandatory evacs or go west to certain areas and even though this isnt going to be a direct hit to NOLA, they are on the right side of it and if the levees break again...not good.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: We have been watching all morning...We probably won't get much rain but my parents are in for 'severe flooding' later in the week if it stays on it's current track. (Aimee ya'll are too huh?)

CiCi ya'll stay safe! Naomi~ We are still praying you miss the worst of it girlie! Can you even get back home now? unsure.gif

BAC'sMom replied: We are under a Coastal Flood Watch and our tides are only expected to be 3ft above normal but that is about it. Everyone stay safe! I will continue to pray for you Gulf Coast folk! hug.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: This hurricane business is for the birds. This is the second weekend that's been a wash out (pun intended) due to rain and all around crummy weather. I swear, we are getting rain and high winds today here in Tampa and we arent' even in the track. This thing is a GIANT! I can tell when a band comes through though. I'm glad we arent' in it's path. sad.gif

stella6979 replied: As much as I dislike Michigan, it is times like these that make me LOVE it!! I hope everyone in it's path stays safe. I'll be thinking of you all! hug.gif hug.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Stay safe everyone. hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
We'll get some rain, but it won't be too bad. I'm sure East of us will get the worst of it.

Everyone stay safe. We're watching and praying. hug.gif

redchief replied: I'm still praying for those in harm's way. Stay safe everyone!

Cece00 replied: the weather is getting bad here now...
