How rude.. ughhhh
sparkys2boys wrote: So I just dropped Cameron off at k-garten and at the same time his friend Megan was there with her mom getting ready to go in also. So as soon as Cam seen Megan he whipped out his b-day invite(that he has for the whole class) and gave it to her. They were both SOOO excited and were talking and giggling, so the mom says all happy like, can I see it Megs, when is the party I hope you can go. SO she takes the invatation and looks at it and then turns to me and says.. get this.. ohhh, your a stay at home mom I see, must be nice. WTH??????? I was shocked and said.. ummm why would you say that? And she replies, only your type would have the time to make homemade invatations.. OMG I could of decked her. I had no clue what to say, so I looked at her and said.. I really hope Megan can attend. I felt like ripping a strip off her but not with the kids there and not to his friends mom. I should have told her that I normally work full time and that I still would of done it Some people amaze me though
gr33n3y3z replied: Very rude geeze I hope her daughter doesnt act like her now or later in life
ZandersMama replied: It's against the rules to type what i'm thinking right now sheeesh if i could get out of the house to go to work, I would probably be more energetic. I don't know where people get off thinking being a sahm is so easy.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: what a witch. I'd have asked her what that's supposed to mean... I'm usually good about throwing back what someone said to make them feel bad - just making them aware that they just made a complete jerk out of themselves, and in front of people, no less.
Conversation would have gone like this, with me:
"Oh, you're a SAHM i see..must be nice" "why would you say that?" "only your type would have the time for homemade invitions" "what's that supposed to mean?" "just that you don't work, so you'd have time" "Who said I didn't work full time? you're just assuming!" "oh.." "Now I feel bad for taking the time out of my busy day to make the invitations with him. I'm sorry you feel like a failure for getting storebought cards." "Oh no, I didn't mean.."
Walk away... lol chuckling...
sparkys2boys replied: LOL.. had the kids not been there and other parents coming and going I may have been a little more snippy with her.
It will be interesting to see if she lets Megan go now, and if so.. I will find a way to get my remarks in then.. BAHAHAHAHAH
Made me mad that because I take the time to make things extra special for my kids she took offence to it. My theory is, for your kids, you find the time.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Wow, I feel that way too in situations, because we have a bunch of kids, doesn't mean we use everything to be convenient, or don't do homemade things. It's quite the contrary, I/we try to make as much homemade since it's usually cheaper that way, and not to mention fun & educational for the kids .
MommyToAshley replied: OH MY -- HOW RUDE! You know, I think sometimes people make comments like that because they are insecure about the decisions they've made to work. WOHM's always wonder what it is like to be a SAHM, and vice versa -- but the fact of the matter is that neither are easy or mean you a better parent overall.
I think you should just brush it off and not let it ruin your day or the party. It'd be sad if Cameron's friend doesn't come because her Mom is rude and and idiot.
So, do we get to see a pic of the invitation?
I've only made Birthday party invitations one time, but Ashley always makes the birthday cards whenever she goes to a party. She takes a lot of time and puts a lot of thought into them. They mean more to her than if she were to buy a card.
luvbug00 replied: i'm surprised she would say that . but then again, maybe she is jelous that she doesn't have job that gives her the time or she can't afford to stay home with her kids and do things like that. being a stay at home mom is a privage in my eyes, i'd love to do it but where we live unless your rich it's almost impossible. I'm just lucky enough to have a job with flexablity and a good income from it.
DillsMommy replied: How rude. I can't stand when people make comments like that. She's probably just jealous I think that's awesome that you made the invitations yourself, how sweet!
sparkys2boys replied: Cam took all the invites with him to school but I can give you what I have still on the puter..lol
This is the font and on the back I added red paper and then wrote up this

grapfruit replied: Wow, Cyndi and I usually make invites for all the kids b-day parties and even for our SIL's baby showers....and we both work full time. She's just jealous of your craftiness.
msoulz replied: Sounds to me like she is jealous of your status - she'd like to be "one of your type".
MommyToAshley replied: THAT IS SUPER CUTE!!!!
