How old?
Boo&BugsMom wrote: How old were your children when you stopped using a booster seat at the dinner table? Not highchair, but booster. Tanner is 4 and still uses one for dinner time. It seems he is just a little tad too short yet, but he looks so big in it so I am debating taking it off the table.
kimberley replied: jade was about 2yo, james about 3yo and jacob about 2yo cuz he didn't fit anymore
My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke just turned 3 and only uses one some of the time - she likes to sit like a big girl sometimes. Maybe ask him what he thinks?
Boo&BugsMom replied: I think I'm going to take it off. He just seems too old for it now. Our table sits pretty high which is why he is still in it. I think he'd like it if it was gone too.
mom2my2cuties replied: I actually need to get one for Andy. She is using a box right now
my2monkeyboys replied: Will hasn't used one in about a year, maybe a little more. Not bc he can reach so great, he just didn't want to use it anymore. Male ego and all...
momannabelle replied: Tyler stopped using one at about 2 1/2. It was just easier to have him sit on his knees. We were always risking him hitting his chin on the table b/c he can't sit still.
coasterqueen replied: Kylie is still in a booster at 4 years old 3/4 of the time and I'm keeping it that way. IMO she's too big for it when she feels she's ready. Yes, she likes to sit in a big girl chair but she tends to drop food on herself when not sitting in one, so I like the booster.
I say if he wants to stay in one let him, it's not hurting him. If he feels he's ready then take it away.
C&K*s Mommie replied: We still use boosters at restraunts, though not at home since we do not sit at the dinner table.
Cece00 replied: They never used them...our table isnt that high, though, so maybe thats why.
hawkshoe replied: I think he was about 3.
Boo&BugsMom replied: That's funny Nicole because with Tanner it's the exact opposite! He even sits without one when the daycare kids are over because my toddler I have needs a booster at lunch. But when it comes time for dinner he knows which seat is his and just climbs right in, but I will admit, he does make a bigger mess without it too, but that's ok. He's never been a terribly messy eater.
I did ask him last night what he wanted to do and he said he would like to keep the same seat at the table, but without his booster seat. So, I suppose we will take it off but he stills wants to sit at the same seat at the table, which is fine. I'll just switch the booster to the other seat when my daycare kiddos are over.
Thanks guys!
mom21kid2dogs replied: About 2.5. She was a;ways picking the seat without it so we just put it away.
Kaitlin'smom replied: funny Kaitlin stopped for a while and now uses one again. Its much easier for her at the table with one so as long as she wants it fine. Guess it were to depend on the table height.
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison is not using one right now but I think we are putting it back--she has a hard time sitting still since she has to sit on her knees to eat. Jack is still using one of course and I will keep it as long as possible.
CantWait replied: Anthony stopped using his just after his 3rd birthday. His choice, he just didn't like it, and he does well without it.
ediep replied: Jason doens't use one anymore, he probabaly stopped using it around 3 years old
