How often do you clean their carseat? - eeewwww!!!!

I was just wondering how often everyone else cleans them. I havn't cleaned mine since I got this new one in September I think it was.

ediep replied: I never actually took the whole thing apart to clean it, but I take out the crackers, cereal, and cookies that get trapped whenever I see them.

alice&arik replied: Well today I brought the carseat in to adjust all the straps because with his snowsuit it gets to be a tight fit. And I took the whole cover off to wash it and all the stuff I found was in little cracks and compartments behind his butt. I NEVER thought there would be that much stuff in there, everything was just pasted together and soupy. There was even quarters and pennies in there.

booey2 replied: I have only really washed them when they have been sick or we have switched cars and they needed to be done before we put them in the other one.

loveydad replied: oh, I also clean it if I buy one used (the places in boise make sure they havent' been recalled or in an accident, you have to sign your name that everythings fine ect).

loveydad replied: When it needs it. Whenever some spills on it. I haven't had one of the kids puke on thei rcarseats for a long time - but I would if they did. Or if they spit up on it I scrub it really good. Oh but once, I was babysitting for this person and her 2 year old's carseat was nasty! There was this sticky, thick, stuck stuff stuck on the botom and there was french fries, food, and toys stuck in it. GROSS!

alice&arik replied: Hmmmm......do you guys ever look under the cover? That is where I find everything. From a glance his looks like a brand new carseat.

coasterqueen replied: I guess I'll have to check under the pad of Kylie's. I just clean it when it needs it but I also don't really let her eat in her carseat..it's a rare occasion if she gets to.
