How often do you bathe - your infant???

Mommy2BAK wrote: I am just curious how often other parents bathe their babies. I give Blakely a bath everyday, I just love to bathe her and lather her up with baby lotion. But I know that pediatricians on;y recommend a bath 3-4 times a week because bathing too often can cause dry skin.

Blakely loves taking baths and so we have made it into a daily routine, but has anyone discovered any problems with bathing daily?

Mommy2BAK replied: Sorry~ Ignore my poll, I will fix it and post another later blush.gif

malachibratton replied: I bathe my son every three days. I wash him up, everyday to get all of that sweat and millk off of him. I was told that bathing them alot wasnt good for their skin. My mother bathed me everyday and my skin is fine. thumb.gif

MomToMany replied: I bathe Kayla every few days. She doesn't get real dirty, but I wash her face, hands, and diaper area daily before bed. I can't let the kids (or myself) go to bed with dirty faces and hands.

A&A'smommy replied: I know I don't have a "infant" anymore but I use to bathe Alyssa everyday too well after she was about 4months old and started rolling around everywhere. ALyssa would get dry skin sometimes but that was ONLY when i took her to my mils and she ALWAYS gave her bath "just because" dry.gif

ediep replied: well, Jasonisn't really an infant he is a toddler, but I bathe his everyday as part of his bedtime routine. I also think that it helps to wash away germs so it helps him not get sick too often. Anyway he loves his bath sooo much. He has so much fun "fwimming" in there every night

Sunflower04 replied: I used to bathe Joey every day when he was an infant and we still do now that he is a toddler.

MichaelsMommy replied: Michael gets a bath every night before bed.
I usually put lotion on after his bath and some powder
in his diaper. So far no problems doing that - his
skin is soft, rash free and nice.

MommyToAshley replied: When Ashley was an infant, I bathed her every other day. When she was around 5 or 6 months old, we switched to every day and it is also part of our bedtime routine. Ashley loves her bath, and if you ask her what comes next, she will say, "jammies... brush teeth... read books...prayers.... and BEDTIME!" I think the bath helps to relax her and helps her sleep better.

bucky replied: Jacob only gets a bath about once a week, but takes showers with me 2 or 3 times a week.. he loves playing with the water coming down at him!!

loveydad replied: Vincent and Kel get bathed at least 3 times a week and usually not more than that because they don't like it. But they will still bathe together so that cuts down on time.

Tracy usually bathes by herself (supervised) 4 times a week or s o because she likes to bathe and asks for it quite a bit.

Nicky gets bathed 3-4 times a week and sometimes he gets his bath with someone else.

Carter and Clara get a bath a few times a week because they tend to get messy with food and such. I can bathe them together and they both like it so it works out.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: When Jade was an infant she would get a bath every other day. Her skin would get pretty dry so on the nights she didn't get a bath I used lotion. Now she gets a bath every night before bed. It's part of the routine. Sort of okay you need to start settling down now because it's almost bedtime.

jdkjd replied: We're doing every other day through the summer so that Kiera's skin doesn't get dried out, but as soon as it is consistently warm we will go to every day because she loves bathtime.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I bathe both of mine every other days. I usually just put Ethan in the bath with Maddie and wash him off real quick then let her play for a little while. In the summertime they get a bath every day. Maddie has severe dry skin that is worse in the winter. And usually we just hang out at the house so they aren't dirty. wink.gif

annafrombc replied: I bathe Evan every night and his skin is great. It really relaxes him before bed and I use all lavander products. He smells great the next morning!

Josie83 replied: We've always bathed Cassie everyday just before bed, like DeeDee says its part of her routine. It would throw her off if we didn't do it! I think it gets her ready for bed and relaxes her before a story and sleep xx

Daniels Mommy replied: I bathe Daniel every night as part of his bedtime routine...unless he falls asleep before I can bathe him or if he is too cranky for a bath (because that puts him later to bed!!!)
