How much do you tip - your pizza guy???
mckayleesmom wrote: Im just curious...Usually I top 3 or 4 dollars...but there is this old man that comes from Pizza Hut and he is just so darn cute. We live on a one way street and he is always driving down it backwards and he always forgets half my order, but I always tip him 7 or 8 dollars . I just have the feeling that he is not working because he wants to and hes working because he HAS to...makes me sad.
~~*Missi*~~ replied: as someone who once delivered pizza to pay for college its appreciated cause at most you make 2.50 an hour plus tips and if you quite possible .19cents a mile. Without the tips its not that great. With you can make decent money. I use to make 400$ working friday and saturday night. The guys said it was cause i was a girl but whatever LOL
i usually do the same as if I was in a restaurant for a waiter double to tax
Our Lil' Family replied: We're too cheap for delivery!! lol, it's DiGiorno's for this family!!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Around $3. Anyone notice more women delivering pizzas?? Not that women can't do it, but I would find it a scary job since they go to someone's door at night. I've heard of stories where even men have been mugged for their money. I would hope they send the big guys to the frat houses!
mckayleesmom replied: My brother in law worked for Pizza hut a few years back and he got jumped a number of times...One time he was stabbed.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: OMG! I used to do phone orders/carry out/hostess for an Italian restaurant and had to deliver food when they were short on delivery guys. I hated it! Once it was raining so hard and I was angry I got pushed into going, so I accidently backed my car into a telephone pole when I rushed out!! Yep, that's me at 22 years old! My poor car had bruises on every side of it that year! LOL!
~~*Missi*~~ replied: I never had a issue. The owner told me that if I am not comfortable going to the door because its dark or whatever call the person and make them come to me on the street.
I did it a few times and most people understood. One guy called and complained to the owner and he told him simply you don't like it call someone else! LOL
I went to the frat houses, crack heads you name it. it didn't bother me at all and they didn't bother me. Yeah the guys were crude and would ask for more then pizza but i just laugh and give a quick response of scarasm that it was all ok.
SAdly i was pregnant and doing it for 6-7weeks while pregnant I didn't know. Now thinking of that OMG would I do it now hell no. Like previous poster said I never heard of mugging pizza people but right around christmas this year there were 10 in the city alone and some died and some were critically injured.
My3LilMonkeys replied: It depends. Around here most places charge a delivery fee and pay the drivers minimun wage instead of making them depend on tips - some delivery drivers even refuse tips.
If they don't charge a delivery fee ususally $3-4 depending on the size of the order. More if it was a really complicated order or if the weather is bad or they are particularly quick.
luvmykids replied: Whats your tax rate? If I double ours it's barely over 10%. I waited tables and bar tended, so I tip big. I tip our pizza guy 8 bucks, and at a restaurant I tip 20-25% for standard service, more if it's really great service.
kayla's mama replied: I usually tip about $4, when we go out to eat Jason does the tipping and I think he does about 15 %
redchief replied: 3 - 5 dollars depending on the number of pizzas.
jacobsmama replied: Us too...
CantWait replied: Usually about $3-$5 depending on what we get, and how fast it got to us.
