How much $ for... - shoes

PrairieMom wrote: Jen, you asked for it. LOL

Shoes I will spend a little more for. I bought a pair of Born boots once for $129. I think that is my limit. I will spend $50 on work shoes. I LOVE my borns, and will pay $90 for a pair, because I have to for that brand, but I will talk myself out of them for a Looooooong time before I finally break down and get them.
the kids get second hand shoes for about $5 a piece, or new for $15 if they are lucky.

mom21kid2dogs replied: I have a friend who only buys stride rite and hands down all her girl's shoes to Olivia. She gave me a pair of Born shoes she hated tongue.gif . They seem nice, but I'd never pay what she did for them. I get alot of O's shoes on clearence at Land's End so they end up around $10-$15 with free shipping. I usually get mine second hand ( got a great pair of Clark's this summer at a yard sale for $5) or at Payless.

My2Beauties replied: blush.gif blush.gif Man I will pay for some shoes, I hate to admit it. For the most part the shoes I buy (dress shoes) are in the $20-40 range but tennis shoes...I'll pay close to $100 for. blush.gif I've paid $30 for Ed Hardy flip-flops and $30 for Baby Phat fli-flops too blush.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Hmmm, that just depends. Anywhere from $10-$30 for flipflops, usually about $50 for New Balance at Academy and about $35 to sometimes close to $80 for dress shoes depending on how badly I need them!

PrairieMom replied:
I'll pay $12. for flip flops. rolling_smile.gif I can only wear them 3 months out of the year tho, stupid winter. dry.gif

moped replied: Seriously.....WOW.

I have all types of shoes.....flip flops I pay $50-$60 for reefs. I love a good flip flop

Work type shoes i will spend up to $100 plus

Fashion boots, the tall ones I would send $200 plus and more if they are leather.

I don't have a problem spending money on shoes because we wear them everyday! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

For the kids it depends. I just got L some shoes for the party that were $45, she has some sandals she has worn all summer for about $30 I think. Her Nike runners were about $45. I do get some great deals too, got her some flip flops at GAP for $6.

Jack is about the same.

Danalana replied: The $100 range is my limit...POSSIBLY just over.

jakesmommy08 replied: MAN! what kind of jobs do you guys have???? Haha!!! Well on my income on $12,000 a year, i will spend like $15 -$20 for jacobs shoes, and i think i've spent like $60 on a pair for me. But i usually try to get them for like $30 or so.....

bluebear replied: It really depends on where I get them from. I only buy tennis shoes (Ultimate 81) and there are some places that sell them for way too much. Usually I spend $45-65 on a pair. I have gotten a lightweight pair on clearence at journey's for $30. When I used to buy Diesel they were so expensive and didn't even hold up long, they were around $80.

luvbug00 replied: for myself i rarely will buy shoes ( i get the boyfriends to buy them for me..lol) but for my last dress hsoes i spent more on then any other shoe i have ever had, 130 bucks. my last sneaker i got for myself, 70 from bebe. But i get my flip flops from target for 2.50..lol.
Myas shoes however i spend major $ on..i get her shoes, echo reds and DCs all about 60 +. everything else, if it's cute, i'll get it for her. I can't afford it but i've chomped on some instant lunch to ensure mya is dressed and shoed well.

A&A'smommy replied: WELL I use to never spend more than 10 - 15 dollars for flip flops and 20 for dress shoes... BUT I now will spend 20-30 for flip flop (I fell in love with yellow box and tivas but yellow box are my favorite) and anyway from 50 -75 on dress shoes and it depends on the tennis shoes (which I ONLY use for work out) how much I will pay for them. My last pair I paid 40 dollars I think on sale but everything in that store was on sale rolleyes.gif I bought a pair of crocs that I wear a LOT in the winter about a year and half ago but I will probably get something different this year. Any suggestions?

bluebear replied:
Are you looking for a pair of trainers or everyday shoes? for everyday shoes look at Journey's. http://www.journeys.com/

luvmykids replied: Shoes are my weakness and I'm definitely not a shoe snob....I don't care if they're from Target or Nordstrom tongue.gif The most I've ever paid was about $300 for cowboy boots but that was only once. My black leather high heeled boots were about $150 but I've had them for five years and just got them re-soled so I don't feel too bad.

The kids, I insist on good sneakers for them since that's what they wear most, usually $30 or so.

mommyof4 replied: I am not a shoe person I have 3 pairs of high heels My daughter call my church shoes lol
and 1 pair of running shoes and about 4 flip flops I love my flip flops .

The kids I buy nike or stride right , but was willing to get walmart light ups untill I found the stride right light ups , the kids feet I dont cheap out on , however they managed to get me me to allow them into flip flops and had a hard time out of them .

your feet are important and kids growing feet are more so , but you dont need to speed alot you just need the soft flexability . I just like stride rite .

MoonMama replied:
I just got Ed Hardy flip-flops at Foley's for 2 for $30. I was all kinds of stoked. emlaugh.gif

I'm the worse person to ask we all know I spend to much on clothes and shoes, so I plead the 5th! tongue.gif

ChristineA replied: most ive payed is $5 for flip flops and $30 for runners

bluebear replied:
Tj Maxx has them cheaper! I get Ed Hardy shirts for that price!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Weeeellll.... usually about 100$ - 150$ a pair or so... other than the cheap summer shoes, then between 5 and 20$... but ever since my friend busted me buying one pair of black heels for 129$ plus tax, he made me return them and come to the store he works at, Spring (sub company of Aldo), and got me 3 pairs of shoes and 2 purses for under 120$ with his discount.. so now I buy all my shoes there, for half off (with his discount) and generally I pay between 20-40$ a pair.

I didn't used to be a shoes girl... but the last 2 years.. oh man. I went from about 5 pairs to.. um.. well.. about 25. blush.gif

moped replied:
Rocky,

Do you have Arnold Churgin there? Or have you been?

Hillbilly Housewife replied: no we don't have those here in Ottawa... but I went when I went to Fort Mac last year and nearly had a sh*tfit. I keep an eyue on the website for half off sales...LIKE NOW!!!! wink.gif and I'm totally in love with the Ghillie Tie gladiator sandal right now.. 174.50 is a price i'd be ok with... 349 is not. Not for a sandal. A boot, however, SURE!!! rolling_smile.gif

(Edited to mention that i stopped in Calgary for a night before I went to fort Mac. There are no AChurgins in Fort Mac. it just sounded funny!)

Calimama replied:
Wow, Reefs here are $30-40! I love them.

I think the most I have ever spent on shoes was $219. I don't do that very often. Usually between $50-100

gr33n3y3z replied: I dont put prices on shoes for kids or myself I buy the best foot wear out there bc your feet are very important it has to hold all the weight for hours on out

JessC replied: Most i have ever paid for shoes was $15. Flip flops, I get at payless or target. And brody's shoes I don't pay more than 10 bucks for... hes been out growing them every 2 months lately! blink.gif laugh.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Holy Cow! I'm amazed... how do you afford to spend so much on shoes?! My summer shoes are 2 pair of old navy flip flops for $5. tongue.gif I have a pair of running shoes that cost about $45- $50 bawling.gif and a pair of brown shoes for winter that cost me around $30... I've had both for two years now - i'd like a new pair of shoes this winter but it probably isn't going to happen.

Oh and for the kids... usually about $15 is the most we'll pay for a pair. Sometimes we luck out and get them on clearance - last summer we got Andrew a pair of tennis shoes that lasted him all winter for less than $4 on clearance at Target. biggrin.gif And this last spring we got him a pair for $12 that he is still wearing. Allie wore garage sale shoes and hand me down sandals all summer, and I bought her a pair of shoes for $16 for winter because I couldn't find anything cheaper.

Boo&BugsMom replied: I will not pay more than $15 for shoes for the boys...usually up to $10 for Aiden. Myself, never more than $20, if that. I usually clearance shop for everything, especially for the kids since they grow out of everything so fast. I like things cute and cheap! biggrin.gif

My2Beauties replied: I think the most I ever spent on a pair of shoes was like $150, some Jordans LOL! I forgot to put about the kids, for the kids with tennisshoes I'll usually pay about $40-50 for some good tennis shoes, but for sandals I can usually get those for between $10-20. I can get some tennis shoes for cheaper if they aren't name brand but I've always found that they tear up. For their dress shoes I usually pay around $30. My husband paid like $139 for a pair of Baby Phat Boots one time for me, they are bad a-- I love 'em! They go all the way up to my knee, I have pics of me in' em on my myspace. He bought me 2 pair that year, the other ones weren't as high and they go up knee high too but are pointy toed so don't look right unless the tops are hidden under pants. I heard someone say they have 25, OMG that's good because I have like 50-75 pairs....... blush.gif blush.gif
