How many vehicles does your family have?

I'm just curious...How many vehicles does your family have?

mckayleesmom replied: We just have 1...a Kia Amante...But at the moment we only really need 1. Dh travels for business 3 weeks at a time and hes usually back 2. When he is home..he goes to the office, but is usually back by about noon. When we move he would like to get a truck, but right now its not neccessary.


Is the car or truck your dh wants something he is paying cash for? Or does he want to make payments? I would say no if it is something that involves payments.

MamaJAM replied: We only have 2 now...though only one of them fits our whole family. DH has a Saturn Vue (SUV) - I have a Saturn Relay (minivan/SUV thing).

We used to have 1 minivan - 1 van - and 1 car....we kept an older, cruddy minivan around for when the main van was in the shop (which was too frequent). When we got my Relay - we got rid of the van then the minivan (it wasn't in great shape either). I miss having the back-up of a second vehicle we all fit into...but I don't miss the repair bills.

He wants to buy like a 600-800 dollar car for him to have so if he doesn't want to drive his truck he doesn't have too. And it is like a sporty one that he could never drive in winter if needed. OH and BTW this is the man who is so deprived that he has a motorcycle, fourwheeler and a hotrod truck he is working on. What a brat!

luvmykids replied: Five. I know, we're ridiculous. DH has his truck and a jeep, I have my Excursion and a car (which I never drive, it's too small!) and we still have a convertible we just can't part with. I'm determined to drive it some this summer or it goes bye bye.

redchief replied: Two of our own... and I have a work truck that belongs to the plumbing business. I also have the fire chief's car, but that belongs to the town so I can't really count it.

We have a Chev. Tahoe for the mob and Lisa, and a Beretta that acutally belongs to my second son, but is used by us when he's away at school.

The other 2 have been sitting in my yard for over a year now. 1 just needs a starter, but my hubby is too lazy to put one in & the other 1 he bought w/o finding out if 1) the owner had a title for it & 2) if the name on the title matched the person selling the vehicle. Needless to say it has been virtually impossible to tag it.

kayla's mama replied: We have 2.......03 Dodge Ram Quad Cab....that's Jason's but I've been driving it til I find a job because it is such a gas hog......99 Saturn...its about on its last leg....can't believe it has almost 100,000 miles I'm to scared to drive it to St. Louis...it a 5 hr trip.

Justin has 3 motorcycles, 1 fourwheeler, 1 three-wheeler, he has a Chevy Truck & a 70 El Camino SS. Oh yes, he is SPOILED!!!!

I have a great car though, so I can't complain. I have a 2003 Chevy Impala LS. I love my car!

But even though Justin has a lot of vehicles, and off road vehicles...it's nice having an extra car around.

What if one of your cars breaks down? It's nice having a back up, and if he's only thinking of buying a 800.00 car...sounds like it's a good plan! But I know how you feel, boys & their toys! They'll never be satisfied!

Crystalina replied: We have 4 vehicles. We have a caravan, a toyota (my car), an S-10 pickup and my husband has a huge pickup and I have no idea what model it is.
I got the Toyota last fall because it only takes $20 to fill it up and with me living 15 minutes from anything I use alot of gas. My van was costing about $60 every 4 days! Something had to be done.

Boys r us replied: We have 3 right now, a 2004 VW Passat, 2004 Chevy Tahoe and Rick has a HUGGGGGGE truck that he uses for our business, a 2002 Ford F-350.

coasterqueen replied: We have two. My 2002 or 2003 (can never remember) Chrysler Town and Country mini van and a 1998 dodge neon. DH got the neon when I got the mini van. It's his turn for the brand new car when we pay the mini van off.

We would like to have a truck again too, an el-cheapo, one day.

Stepson has a '72 Chev truck and we also have a farm truck that stays at our place.

and the 93 truck, we payed cash for it. we got it cause we were always needing a truck for something, espically pinballs and to rent one as often as we needed one well it was cheeper to buy. he is thinking of sometime trading both in on a bigger truck

giffmom replied: We have 2, I have a 97 breeze which I hope to trade in pretty soon for a mini van or suv, DH has a 95 dodge ram extended cab and he wants a motorcycle to break his neck on. But if I have my way he is not getting one.

3 of our 4 vehicles are old junkies given to us - one we are still paying for (it was mine before we got married) and it is parked in our garage because the transmission went out.

I know how you feel. I am stuck at home all day because Dh has to take our only working vehicle to work - and I live half an hour away from everyone I know. There isn't anywhere to go in my little hick town anyways. I am looking forward to Spring so that Andrew and I can at least go for walks!
