How many times a night do you do it?

Crystalina wrote: Check on your kids? rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

DH told me that I'm a night stalker. emlaugh.gif I do it all the time. Sometimes 4 times a night. I have to make sure they are covered, their not too hot, their heads are on the pillow...all that. I even check their p.j.'s to make sure they aren't all crooked on them while they sleep. If I'm too tired and just think about going to check on them I feel guilty for not actually doing it and get up and do it anyway because what if I don't and there's a problem. rolleyes.gif I have child-checking OCD. happy.gif

sparkys2boys replied: LOL. I usually do right before I go to bed and then always if I wake during the night. But I never wake up thinking OMG I have to check the boys.

mckayleesmom replied: A couple times.

Kaitlin'smom replied: omg I do the same thing, when I put her in bed, before I go to bed sometimes more than once, if I wake up in the middle of the night I check in on her and when I get up I will check on her....guess I am a night stalker also laugh.gif

paradisemommy replied: (raising my hand)..i'm totally in the night stalker club - i would say about 4 to 6 times/night.. rolleyes.gif

stella6979 replied: Avery sleeps upstairs and our stairs creek so bad that I really don't check on her very much (she's a light sleeper and wakes up to any noise). However, we do have a video monitor so I can see and hear her at all times which definitely puts my mind at ease.
Of course, we went swimming yesterday and after hearing about that dry drowing, I did actually tiptoe up there at least 10 times last night. sleep.gif

lovemy2 replied: Depends on how many times a nite I wake up - but everytime I wake up I check on them....both my kids still have monitors too - I tell Olivia she is taking hers to college laugh.gif

Danalana replied: I thought you were going to ask how often we get up to pee emlaugh.gif
I check Kade a couple of times happy.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Always before I go to bed, and now that I am up in the middle of the night to pee rolleyes.gif I check on him then too.

A&A'smommy replied: I only check on Alyssa before I go to bed, If I need to go to the bathroom and whenever I nurse Autumn (which is about 1-2 times a night) I use to be like that then i quit happy.gif

Celestrina replied: Usually about 1-2 times a night. The first is to turn of the cd player, and if I've been on the computer I'll stick my head in afterwards.

Crystalina replied: I've never owned a baby monitor but I think I'll look into one. One with video. smile.gif

stella6979 replied:
I really do love my video monitor. My biggest fear is someone taking her at night while we're all sleeping (which I know is unlikely) but it's nice to be able to just look over and see her there.

moped replied: I don't usually check on them in the night at all - sometimes maybe once....but not very often

My3LilMonkeys replied: Before I go to bed, and when I get up in the morning. DH also checks on them when he gets home from work (around 2 am or so).

Brias3 replied:
Oooh, that's TOTALLY me. If I even THINK I hear something, I'll drive myself crazy NOT getting up to check, so I always end up going up there. Even if I think about checking on them and then decide they are fine, I'll go ahead and still go up. I can't sleep until I do. And mind you, my kids aren't babies anymore either, so I really shouldn't have anything to worry about- I guess I'm just so used to it that it's hard not to check on them happy.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Um....never. I'm a very hard sleeper so I very rarely ever wake up.

DVFlyer replied: Unless they cry, almost never.

But they usually come into our room around 3:00am. blink.gif snooze.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Ditto.

Usually Scotty peeks in on them before we go to bed, but only if their doors are open. Then he kisses them goodbye in the morning. Normally one or both are in our room at one point during the night anyway. dry.gif

Teesa®© replied: I don't check on ours unless I hear crying or a noise. If I hear a noise I can't identify, I'm stalking through the house with my handy-dandy baseball bat and doing a complete walkthrough wub.gif . I even look under beds, inside closets and even in the cupboards [there's 3 cupboards in the children's bathroom and they're all empty. If Andre the Giant were alive still, he'd fit in there no problem blink.gif ]

luvmykids replied:
LOL, me too. Once I'm asleep it's ok but even if I'm just about to doze off and hear something I have to get up and check rolleyes.gif

Crystalina replied:
A snatcher in the night is my scare also. I have them in a room (they share right now) that has a door leading to the back deck. We live out in the middle of nothing but you never know. I have to have them in that room d/t my other MAJOR fear which is a night fire. Even if they can't get out I can always (or someone) can get in to get them. A fire is more likely then a snatcher especially since we heat with wood in the house all winter.

DillsMommy replied:
I had Peyton sleep in bed with me last night, for that exact reason. We went swimming and he swallowed a little water. Nothing serious--but I'm paranoid. rolleyes.gif sleep.gif blush.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Um, never. tongue.gif Now that Allie sleeps through the night I don't get up unless one of them cries. happy.gif If their windows are open when they go to bed I'll go in and close them before I go to bed so that they don't get woken up in the morning by Dh's loud car leaving for work, but otherwise I rarely check on them. wink.gif

Calimama replied: DH checks on her once on our way up to bed but that's really it.

Boys r us replied: I'm totally obsessive about it!! Just like you if I think about it..I always guilt myself into doing it!
