I was just thinking of some of the adventures I have had in the 12 short weeks I have had Kade. There are more, but I can't think of them right now.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: All of the above, many times rolleyes.gif . It's interesting to breastfeed in a moving vehicle.

ETA: I missed the finger as a pacifier part, as we're a paci-free house. No substitutes here thumb.gif !

lisar replied: ..gone somewhere with baby and forgot wipes, diapers, or the diaper bag altogether?
Yes I have done this once when I took Lexi to the dr and she was just a couple months old. I learnt my lesson and put spares in the trunk.

...changed baby in your vehicle?
Do that ALL the time.

...fed baby while going down the road (in the backseat with baby, of course)? Burping was interesting, huh? BTDT never burped though. I always stopped to do that

...used one of your fingers as a pacifier because you misplaced it and baby was hysterical?
Oh yes BTDT

...had to stop on the side of the road to feed baby or rock baby to sleep?
Never had to stop to put them to sleep. But I did stop to feed when I was alone.

edited cause I cant spell

ediep replied: yup, all of the above..... I imagine its much easier for me since I bottle fed my kids

although I don't think I ever used my finger as a paci because my kids didn't take one

coasterqueen replied: Yep, done them all. tongue.gif

ZandersMama replied: all of the above tongue.gif the nurse - surf is fun, one boob danggleing over the carseat, trying not to put babies eye out with nipple when going over bumps rolling_smile.gif

Danalana replied:
rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif Oh my...

holley79 replied:
OMG so remember that one!!! wacko.gif emlaugh.gif

All of the above and then some.

boyohboyohboy replied: i am constantly forgetting bottles. i remember the formula, but no bottles! so i have now a stash of bottles in the van, in case!

A&A'smommy replied: rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif I haven't forgotten a diaper bag or used a finger as a paci ALyssa never really took to a paci so we didn't worry about that tongue.gif

Danalana replied: Kade isn't a huge paci user, but he will take one sometimes. One time I had to use a finger was in a hospital. We were visiting somebody with some friends and he got fussy. I took him to an empty waiting room and couldn't get him to quieten down, so i stuck my piny finger in there upside down so that it touched the roof of his mouth...he sucked on it and fell asleep laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
awwwwww tongue.gif

moped replied: Yep, done all that!!!!!

Nursed Jack in the carseat once- that was funny

Teesa®© replied: I wasn't in a moving vehicle because I won't feed a child in a 2+ton car driving at 60-100KM who's not strapped in. mad.gif I don't care WHERE you're sitting in a car, that babe is going to be a projectile and no way to survive surrounded by metal and glass mad.gif

Anyway, years ago, when DS was about 7 or 8 months old, we went to Toronto Zoo. We were laughing at other people who were walking around with giant umbrella's since there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We got there first thing in the morning, and by about 11am, it started down pouring - and I mean it was REALLY down pouring! We were ALL soaked to the skin in a matter of minutes! We kept trying to run from shelter to shelter, but they're few and far between. The plan was to work our way back to the van - we were about halfway into the Zoo at the time.

Now, of course, I was wearing a white shirt and new pumps. Within pretty much seconds, my shirt was totally see-through blink.gif and I was carrying my pumps and trying to "hide" them under my shirt to protect them. By the time we got to the van, we were so soaked and the rain had stopped.

So now, and picture this if you want, rolling_smile.gif , a family of 5 in a huge parking lot. I'm stripped down to my bra and panties, with my clothes wrung out and hanging off my van door. My oldest was stripped down to his BVD's and his clothes wrung out and hung on the roof rack. DH was stripped down to his BVD's and his clothes wrung out and hung on his door. Both babes were fine, I always keep the stroller rain guards in the baskets underneath, so they were both completely dry. tongue.gif

But THEN... like that wasn't bad enough!!! DS got hungry. So not only am I basically nekkid in the Toronto Zoo parking lot, but now I'm nursing a baby!! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif We had 2 guys peeking around the side of their van that was parked behind us, laughing their butts off at us rolling_smile.gif

And we had to drive ALL the way home like that. Down the 401. With thousands of cars and trucks. I told DH he'd better not do ANYTHING to get stopped by the police!! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Funny thing though, I saw 2 other vans and a car with mostly nekkid people in them. You'll NEVER guess where they were, too!!! lmao

Oh yeah, and we actually got a rain cheque to be able to get back in the Zoo on another day!!!!! rolling_smile.gif emlaugh.gif rolling_smile.gif emlaugh.gif rolling_smile.gif emlaugh.gif How ironic!!

Danalana replied: I should clarify that the only time Kade was out of the carseat to be burped was when we were in such heavy traffic that we only moved a few feet at a time. I feed him enough to pacify him a little (in his carseat!), and then just burp him when we stop. I figured the angry faces warranted some clarification tongue.gif

Teesa®© replied: Stuff like that just scares me bawling.gif , but it wasn't directed at you personally, hug.gif .

I don't think creeping along in a traffic jam counts as a moving vehicle wink.gif . Walking and nursing are perfectly safe, and I'll bet you probably could have walked faster than the cars then. Heck, I'm sure the snails were moving way faster emlaugh.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
Oh yes. rolleyes.gif I only used my finger as a paci with Roo though - we always seemed to have Allie's with and she stopped using it when she was six months anyways. happy.gif

I never did do the nursing over the carseat though - it just seemed too tricky. tongue.gif If I didn't have a bottle along (and I never did except on long trips when I'd pumped especially for the trip - and that was only with Andrew since Allie wouldn't take a bottle for anything rolleyes.gif) I'd have to pull over and take them out to nurse.

Danalana replied: The best was feeding him from the front seat until I could get to where we HAD to be at a certain time. I had a hard time finding his mouth laugh.gif Nope, we just feed in "moving" vehicles...we burp in traffic wink.gif Or when driving around a parking lot.

My2Beauties replied: All of the above wink.gif

Crystalina replied:
Ditto! Everything but the paci. Mine have never had them.

BabyOwen427 replied: Yep! Done all of those. I must say dangling your boob over the carseat so he can nurse and still be harnessed in is quite the experience. I would never take him out of his seat in a moving vehicle. But I did unbuckle myself to 'hang' with him. tongue.gif Oh, yeah that got looks too laugh.gif

DillsMommy replied: All of the above! more than once....
I love having a jeep--the trunk makes a great changing table.

Danalana replied: Mandy, I have an SUV and I change him in the back all the time. Ball games, bathroom breaks, emergencies, etc...it really is a good place to change him, except that his stroller takes up a little room.
