How long do I wait? - from Schnoogly

Guest_Schnoogly wrote: OK so AF is pretty late, and I've been not so regular. It's now 33 days, and the last one was 27 days. It's been as long as 35 since I started getting it again (I've only had 3). How long do I wait until I do a PG test? Can it ever stop again once it has started while BFing? I got the first one 6 weeks post partum.

Oh, and I can count on one hand the number of times we've done IT since he was born. And we used BC every time.

Aaarrrggghhh! I've been feeling pretty crappy lately too--like AF is coming but just not---ever---starting!!! Also a little nauseous in the mornings.

It only took 1 month to get pg last time. O why am I so fertile?

No PG vibes to me, please!!

Mommieto2Girls replied: Iwould probley go ahead and take a test , just whenever you buy it get the one that has 2 tests . Take one now and if it comes up neg. take again in 1 week. Good luck.

MommyToAshley replied: I would take a test now... if anything it will put your mind at ease. If you are PG, it should register by now, I would think.

After my AF showed up, I have been pretty regular. However, the nurse did tell me that it could start and then stop again.

I am sure things will turn out alright for you!

supermom replied: Yeppers, it couldn't hurt to take it, and if it was negative it would at least make you feel a little bit better. It seemed when I was wanting to get PG everytime I took a test, the next day or later that same day I'd get AF. Wishing the same luck for you, hun.... grouphug.gif

Personally, I've never had AF start then stop, but it's possible, especially since you are trying to do the EBF thing (cheer Steph!!) and that is usually what makes AF go away for a while......

Schnoogly replied: The test was negative...phew!v Don't get me wrong, we'd love to have another but it is WAY too soon! Still no AF. Is it freaky to not get it? Aren't you worried all the time that you are PG??

Steph

supermom replied: Well, I guess I wasn't too worried, because I was taking the Depro-Provera shots and then we quit about a year after we had Anders to try again - took another year plus some to get PG - I was hoping for no AF so I can't say I was worried. But I do suppose that if I wasn't ready for another one, I would be a little worried, yes......

You are probalby just still irregular since you are still doing quite a bit of BF, even if it isn't EBF smile.gif If you are still concerned in a while, maybe make an appointment with your OB....

BTW, when is Iain's next appt? How's all that going? Maybe you don't feel too good because you are eating some different things to get dairy free? <just a fleeting thought is all>

Schnoogly replied: Yeah mine was always regular before PG, from the time I was 11. 28 days exactly. I knew I was PG before I even tested when it was 2 days late because my boobs hurt like they never had before--throbbed like crazy. They are pretty sensation-less now from all the grabbing and sucking so I was pretty sure I wasn't but I have heard of women who are BFing and go to the Dr for their annual checkups to find out they're 4 months PG or more, and had no idea!

My ooky feeling might be because of the dairy-free, but I'm not eating all that differently just no cheese or yogurt. Lots of soy cheese/tofu products. I never drank milk so at least I don't have to give that up. I'm starting with obvious dairy and if he doesn't get better I'll eliminate all dairy/milk protein in cooked/prepared stuff too. Non dairy creamer isn't really non-dairy!! (It has milk protein in it).

And it could be the domperidone which is making me nauseous--that is a possible side effect but I've been taking it for 2 months w/o problems.

Or else AF is just really late. Or I have a stomach bug. Or I'm just really freaking tired.

Thanks!!
Steph

Edited to say Iain goes to the ped on Tuesday morning. He likes the alimentum fine, and we got the powder too which he likes even better. He is having lots of trouble napping as always but is sleeping pretty good at night. He even slept in till 8:30 a couple of mornings! (Usually up at 6:30) And we haven't had the hour-long screaming sessions except once, and I'm pretty sure that one was because of his teeth since when I put the hylands gel on it he was asleep in 10 minutes. He's been chewing on his hand a lot. I wish that stupid tooth would just come in already! He's been teething for about 6 weeks with no tooth yet, though I can feel the edge now.

jdkjd replied: I could have posted the same post. My AF is now 6 days late but I've taken two tests and both were neg. I figure if it still isn't here in another week, I'll take another test. I've never been this late though without being pregnant.

Kinda scary since I'm not sure if I'm ready for another (money, sleep etc)...

Hillbilly Housewife replied: lol

You guys are too funny. Good luck with the testing...! baby.gif

taf2911 replied: Hello! For what it's worth, I was as regular as clockwork, always 28 days, until I got pg. Then I bf exclusively. I got AF when my son was 4 months old. Then I skipped a month, then started again. When it finally got "regular" again, I would go anywhere from 25-33 days between AF. Know too that stress and other illness can sometimes mess with your AF. If a week or so goes by and it still doesn't come, you might try going to a Pregnancy Center and having a test done there. They usually offer free urine tests and the tests are the same as the ones done in the Dr's office.
Good luck!! And God bless,
Tina

jdkjd replied: Schnoogly-

Any AF yet?

(Was thinking about you!)

MommyToAshley replied: I was thinking about both of you? smile.gif AF yet for either of you?

jdkjd replied: Not me. I'm going to take another test in the morning. Starting to freak me out honestly. With Bailey still not sleeping well at night, the thought of another baby seems very overwhelming to me. (Needed to vent a little stress wub.gif )

MommyToAshley replied: I can relate...Ashley didn't sleep well last night either. She wanted to be held for awhile, which is ok by me because she has been kind of indepedant lately and wanting to go to sleep on her own. I just hate to see her suffer, as I am sure you are with Bailey.

Maybe it is stress related then? Take a deep breath and try to relax.

jdkjd replied: In..............Out..............In.................Out................

(trying to relax)

Schnoogly replied: Yep, arrived yesterday almost 2 weeks late. Now I can get these cramps over with! Was having bad pms ones for a week and a half! Now it only hurts when I BF sad.gif
jdkjd i'm sending her your way!!!
