How early can I mow the lawn?

mammag wrote: I don't want to be rude to the neighbors, though I think most around here work. What time would you say would be a respectable time to mow the lawn? I would like to do it early because it is going to be really hot today.

C&K*s Mommie replied: 8 o'clock would be respectable. smile.gif Although people in my neighborhood can be heard mowing earlier than that.

J-rod replied:
thats what i was thinking too.

PrairieMom replied: I would say no earlier than 8 on a weekday when everyone is up going to work, but on a weekend I would push it back to 9 or so.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well I live in a condo, where there is a company that comes and mows the lawn. They arrive between 8 and 8:30, and aren't shy.

Bee_Kay replied: Yep, I agree.... between 8 and 9 is fine.

JP&KJMOM replied: I agree that 8 is a good time. thumb.gif

mammag replied: I ended up starting around 8:30. I'm done now. It was soooo hot already so I think I will be counting that as my aerobics today. My legs were so sore from yesterday's leg workout which made it even tougher to mow this time.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I hear ya on the hotness early in the day. We get stifled with the heat once you open the door.

Since summer is on the way soon, I am beginning to mow the lawn towards the evening. That way the sun is behind the house, and I still have daylight but it is not glaring to my east or right above.

TheOaf66 replied: yeah I would agree that 8am is ok, by then anyone who has to work is probably either there or getting ready so they are awake, for anyone who works 3rd shift or something, they should already have taken precautions to things like this so I think 8 is ok. thumb.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: exactly! Besides, I would rather have the low humm of a lawn mower outside my window than the phone ringing at 8am from solicitors or people taking surverys rolleyes.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: I think 9am is as early as I'd go.

lisar replied: I say 8am also. Most people are at work anyways.

MommyToAshley replied: I would say 9:00 am as well. Ashley sleeps in and the neighbors wake her up sometimes when they cut the grass early. I hate it when they wake her up because I get a lot of work done before she wakes uo. I would never say anything about it to them though. blush.gif
