How do I dispose of this???

Crystalina wrote: I have one of those little New Testament books. It has the Psalms in it. Evan got it from the fair. I was cleaning out his drawers and found that not only had he spilled something on it but some of the pages are torn out of the back. It just doesn't feel right to throw it in the trash. KWIM? What else would I do with it though?

mckayleesmom replied: hmmm.....not sure.

luvbug00 replied: Recycle it. It's a book and Your beliefs go well beyond paper and at least u can feel like it's doing some good.

My3LilMonkeys replied: A google search turns up the suggestions of burning it or burying it.

Crystalina replied:
I thought about burning it but I wasn't sure if I should. Fire and the bible ya know.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: IDK~ When I did major overhaul cleaning I tried to dispose of a bible that is very old and all torn up in one book and when I tried to throw it out Bill and my best friend both looked at me like I had grown three heads! I would probably bury it-I am not sure about burning it either unsure.gif Honestly though I think that God knows you aren't doing something disrespectful thumb.gif

MoonMama replied:
I'm with Abbie. thumb.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I think I would throw it out ~ like Abbie says God knows you aren't doing it to be disrespectful. I might feel a little bit funny about it, because it's the BIBLE and people used to think it was awful to even just set it on the floor. tongue.gif I googled it to see what others had to say about it and someone said exactly what I was thinking - that it's the message that's sacred, not the book itself. If it can't be used anymore then throw it out. wink.gif

5littleladies replied:
thumb.gif Ditto to what Sara said.

MyBabeMaddie replied: I agree that its the message of the Bible thats sacred, I just don't know if I could burn it... I say bury it.

whitting713 replied: Since I'm way too afraid to throw it away, I would conveniently leave it somewhere at church for someone else to choose how to handle it.

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
rolling_smile.gif emlaugh.gif Maybe call your local church and see what they do with their bibles that become worn. I am sure that they have it happen often enough.

Crystalina replied:
Good idea. I'll ask this Sunday. thumb.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
Now I am curious, let us know what you find out.

holley79 replied:
No kidding. I know you aren't supposed to just toss out a flag so I could imagine there's some other way to dispose of the Bible. happy.gif
