How did you tell your DH or SO you were pregnant?

Marie replied: To answer your question quite simple....I waited till he came home from work one day and held up the stick taken from my home pregnancy stick. He wasn't much surprised, he knew way before me that I was pregnant and was just waiting for me to tell him.
Liz704 replied: Hi! I had it all planned out how I was gonna tell DH if I ever got preggo! I was gonna do something special! But as soon as I took the test and it came out positive I was on the phone with him crying cause I was sooo happy!! I didn't even have time to think for myself before I had called him the urine was still running across the test!! I blew my special moment but come to think of it anyway would've been special!
MommyToAshley replied: I love hearing these kinds of stories. Congrats to both of you! I was the same way, I had thought of doing something special, but I couldn't wait either. DH was asleep when I took the test. After I found out it was positive, I woke him up by saying "DADDY, it's time to get up". It took him a minute to register what I was saying, but we were both so happy!
ellesbells replied: We hadn't planned on having kids *just yet* so it was a bit of a surprise. I knew from day 1 though so i really wanted to say told you so lol
I couldn't wait for him to come home from work so I did the test on my own. I was jumping around - so excited and looking at the stick every 5 minutes to check that it hadn't changed or was a figment of my imagination.
Anyway dh came home - I let him sit down (just about) then handed him the stick...saying his little guys were damn good swimmers! The grin on his face was awesome!! Mind you he did go weird on me for a few days but it didn't take him too long to get used to the idea! 2 days later we had chinese for dinner and off course fortune cookies right....his fortune read "a beautiful, smart and loving person will we coming into your life" I'm still amazed that that fortune and when he got it - and the fact that he got it not me ...it was like someone had flipped a switch and he's been great about it ever since.
MommyToAshley replied: What a neat story! And, what a great fortune. Did you keep the fortune from the cookie for the baby book?
ellesbells replied: you betya!

KatieLeigh79 replied: After trying so long, i was going back in for another (and last) round of shots - so i decided to take a dollar store pregnancy test the day before i went, "just in case" and it had a rather odd spotted line - nothing like the box looked so i figured it was negative and said nothing to him... that night i tried another one, with the same results - then did ohh.. umm *blush* 8 more - and he just got home from work and was like "what are you doing?!?" so i told him my chest was really sore and that i was getting spotted lines and that didn't look right - he was overjoyed when he went and got me a "real" test and it was positive but also slightly upset that i was just going to go back to the doctor without telling him all the strange results i was getting and had i went through more shots i would have most certainly probably lost the baby... so ive learned, i can't just ignore telling him things
MommyToAshley replied: Aweee -- well, congratulations! All that hard work has paid off! I can't keep anything from my DH either.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: hmmm... especially not on this board, hmm? rofl!!
MamaMartie replied: I put a hot dog bun in the oven (not turned on) with a note taped to it: ""Put me back in. I won't be done until sometime in May."
When my dh came home, and things were crazy looking as ever with the kids running aorund, dog barking, me looking stressed (just faking it to try to hide my big smile) I asked him to open the oven & take the pan out. He took it out, looked at the bun, looked at the note, looked at me (very confused) looked back at the bun pan & cold oven and asked "What is this?"
So I told him to read it and think HARD. He did and them he smiled, I laughed, we hugged and congratulated each other. My dh thought it was such a good trick that he did it to his mom & stepdad when they came over that night.

MommyToAshley replied: LOL--That's hillarious! And, creative!!
I will have to remember that one the next time around!
CantWait replied: That's such an awesome story Mama. Thanx for sharing
msjennbug replied: This time around is kinda funny. B/C I didn't think there was anyway that I was pregnant. I'd had a period right on schedule and everything. But something compelled me to pee on that stick.
He came home from working kinda late. He said that he and God had been talking on his way home and he was confident that what ever happens to us, God is in complete control. This was just as he was goign to be laid off. The plan was that he'd continue with the company as a contractor and there was a possibility of purchasing some of the equipment from them (none of which ended up happening). We'd been talkign abotu moving and what not... just everything in life was up in teh air (still is mostly today). Anyway, he's going on about how he's not worried about it all and such. That God isin control of it all.
So, a little bit later I told him, "hey, wanna hear the top ten reasons I think we may be pregnant?" He chuckled and said, "sure"
I listed off a few nonsense things like being tired, needing to pee, wanting protien and then slipped in, "two pink lines" He laughed and said, "ya, that'll do it"
It was such a blessing b/c I was concerned about how he would react. The timing was NOT optimal, ya know? But God prepared his heart on his way home KNOWING what I was about to find out and tell him.
(the time before this one I had HIM dip the stick and watch to see if anything came up. so HE had to tell ME.) )
