How did you meet DH/SO??

I met DH at church when I was 16 (he was 17). We both had the same coat and I took his by mistake. I pulled his gloves out of the pocket and was like "Woah this isn't mine"! He walked over and said it was his and we started talking. We started seeing each other right away and 2 months later he asked me if I would marry him "someday" . And yes-I was still 16! lol
maliksmommy replied: Me and DH met at work. He was my Manager One of his friends that worked with us really liked me and so a bunch of us went out one night and when him and his friend were leaving I pulled him aside and told him that I wanted to date him and not his friend. We've been together ever since
MommyToAshley replied: I met DH in college. Somehow, we kept ending up in the same classes. So, I made a comment like, "Are you following me". A big group of us went out after class -- and we started dating after that. We've been together for 9 1/2 years and married for 2-1/2 years.
dhoppygirl replied: I met DH at a mutual friends birthday party up at college (I was still in school, he had graduated and had a job in town). I had just arrived and noticed him immediately (very good looking and he had long hair), so I meandered over to a friend nearby and didn't think he even saw me. Well, he got up to leave a few minutes later and I made sure to say something (I don't remember what, something like, "Nice talking to you" I am a very sarcastic person) so he would remember me. Well, later that night our mutual friend told me he liked redheads and since I was interested I gave her my phone number to give to him, which she did and he called me two weeks later (yes, I was a ball of nerves waiting and waiting for him to call!!). It ended up he was really nervous to call me, and he had noticed me two years ago on campus!! That was 5 years ago and we've been married for two!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Jennifer, just saw your avater! What an CUTIE!!!
Dh and I met on a campgroud almost 9 years ago. I fell in love, he didn't. He told me he wasn't ready for a serious relationship, we lost touch for a few years, I dated a real jerk, DH held my hand through it, I found courage and dumped the jerk, and we've been "together" ever since!
Schnoogly replied: Iain doesn't get to hear this story until he's in college but... DH and I met at a college dance when we were both completely plastered. I mean WASTED. I had been carrying around a bottle of vodka--the liter size with the handle--the whole evening. (Don't worry I didn't drink it all myself--I shared it!) Our dates ended up going home together, leaving us alone together, so I took him home too! We didn't really start seeing each other until a year later but have been together for 8 years, married for 6. At first I thought he was a dork but he wooed me with his sweet geeky charms.
I guess we should thank our dates for ditching us??

ashade75 replied: I met DH at a football game when I was 13. I was (as kids call it) "going out" with another boy. I wanted to make the "other" boy jealous and started talk to my DH. I didnt even like him, he was just really cute.
So we starting talking on the phone everynight and hanging out. We had Brittany when I was 16 and when I turned 18 he said "do you think we could get married?" I said sure. So we did and now have been married almost 11 years with 3 beautiful children.
supermom replied: I met DH on-line. The company we both own now is a webhosting and internet service. He used to log into our game board to play a game called Trade Wars, and would also chat on the bulletin board. (for any of you geeks that remember BBSes - ).........
Anyways, eventually we ended up talking, and we ended up hosting his domain. We had actually known each other for about three years before things got serious, and I finally made plans to fly over (with my three kids in tow) to meet him and visit Sweden. However, before we got there, the company that he worked for in Sweden had sent him to Los Angeles for some training, and I flew out there (with NO kids) to meet him first.......it was love at first sight.....
Actually, for a while we had thought that maybe our relationship had taken a serious turn, but had agreed to hold off judgment until we met face to face, but when I met him, I knew for sure. I still went to Sweden over Christmas with all three kids, then back again in February to see him again....that was when he asked me to marry him. We got married in the states three months later, and he moved here in August. That was 4 years ago, and things are still wonderful, and I am still blissfully in love!!!
MommyToAshley replied: Hand me the box of kleenex... these stories really get to me. I am such a sap!
booey2 replied: Hi tried to post this earlier and my puter froze, so here goes. I met DH up in Sudbury, Ontario while attending university. My boyfriend at that time decided I wasn’t worth it to drive 6 hours to come and visit for my first ever formal. So I decided to ask out DH (not knowing at the time that he had been drinking for a while before I asked him) as he was one of the few, left on the list 1 week before the formal, who didn’t have dates yet. We went to the formal, had a few too many and didn’t really speak to each other that much after that night . So life went on as usual and one night after skipping out of a psych class early my friend and I met up with DH on the path leading to residence and he asked if we wanted to join him at the student pub for a drink. Well that was 15 years ago and we are now happily married with two great kids.
kit_kats_mom replied: Short story...I met him in a bar.
Details: I was in the process of breaking up with my fiance' of 7 years (who just refused to commit) but I was still living with him and working for him. My girlfriend called to see if I wanted to get away for a girls night so we headed out to a local hole in the wall pub with no makeup, hair in pony tails and jeans...not my best look. LOL We played pool for awhile and noticed two big guys (each 6'3" 200+ lbs) checking us out & acting like they had their mac on. Well, we ended up talking and Woody (my dh) was liking my best friend while his best friend thought I was cute. They both had a sharp wit and were fun to be around. Well, nothing came of those pairings (although I did kiss his best friend and he kissed mine, which his best friend made a point of pointing out during his toast at our wedding ) but we ended up hanging out with "the guys" frequently as friends. They have a great group of fellas and I got along well with all of them. So well in fact that I started dating another one of the guys...again, nothing came of it but I did get a few good meals out of him! Anyway, we had all been out at a bar and we went back to Dh's house for some swing dancing. I was coming out of the bathroom when DH stopped me in the hallway, asked me if I liked his best friend, I said no, asked me if I like his other friend, I said not really, then he asked if I would like to date him. We gave it a shot and the rest is history. We moved in together 6 months after that night, and got married 2 years later on New years eve 2002. We are going strong and very, very happy....I just never thought I'd meet my husband in a bar.

MommyToAshley replied: Isn't it amazing that most of us met our DH in a place and at a time that we least expected it.
Nicole.Gauthier replied: I too meet my husband on-line. Well 5 minutes on-line then I decided to call him and we talked for 5 hours the first night and every night until I decided to make the hour long flight to Montreal 10 days after our first talk. One month after that he proposed and 9 months after that we were married. On our first anniversary we decided to try to have a baby thinking it would take a few months - NOPE I guess we do everything quick, I was pregnant that month.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: My WHOLE family on my mom's side AND my dad's side live in Sudbury!! rofl!!
Here's a couple last names for ya...sound familiar?
Adam Gauthier Pelletier Meilleur Desmarais Arcand Boulanger Lefebvre DiMaio Halle Patterson Labranche
lol
wouldn't it be funny if our families knew each other? rofl
booey2 replied: Some of the names look familliar but DH is from Toronto and I am from a smaller city south west of Toronto, so it is unlikely that they know each other. Oh well, we know each other now.
KatieLeigh79 replied: Dh and I met on a local BBS in 95 when I was 15 & he was 18 (your parents should never _ever_ put a computer & phone line in your room.. work nights and tell you to "never try to get online" He showed up on the doorstep a few weeks later, sadly im still not sure how he got my address I don't remember ever giving it to him - all I remember my father saying was "I was in the military I hope he knows that" and he is pretty much the only guy I ever really "dated" but hey im 23 now and hes going to be 26 (3 days after the little one is born if we are right on for a due date *doubtful*) and only half the time do I care to trade him in..
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hee! Well that's cool.
Glad to know ya!! lol
MommyToAshley replied: Wow! I am surprised how many people met online. That's cool!
MomToMany replied: I met DH at work. He's 33 & I'm 26. He was my supervisor at the time . He kept finding excuses to come over & talk to me. Finally, he got around to asking me out. We were living together before we got married, and I got pregnant with Hannah Rose. I didn't want to rush into getting married just because I got pregnant (like the first one). So I was pregnant & not married (drove my mom CRAZY!). We got married 2 months after Hannah was born, on Father's Day last year (June 16th).
He's a BIG hunter/fisherman type, and doesn't look like he'd be very romantic. Our first Valentine's Day together, he sent me 1/2 a dozen red roses to me at work in the morning, and the other 1/2 to me in the afternoon! It was the first time I ever got flowers, so of course I was crying! He always surprises me with flowers, and I have to say that I LOVE it!
maestra replied: I met Henry senior year in High School. I was really shy and was hanging out in the library during lunch (small campus, one of the few places you could hang out) getting my college applications ready. He kept trying to talk to me, but I was really nervous. Finally after a few times we would talk, but he would always leave after a bit to talk to his friends. I started to really like him after a while, and wanted him to ask me to prom, but he didn't I ended up going with the boss of a friend (who was like 25 and way shorter than me)
After graduation, our mutual friend re-introduced us. We ended up getting together the January after we graduated high school, and have been together ever since. Turns out, he wanted to ask me to prom but thought I wouldn't want to go with him because I was always so quiet around him. doh!
We were together for about seven years when I finally said "Move in with me or this is it!" (he was still living with his mom at 25!) I had always joked with my friends that the only way we would get married was if I got pregnant. Well, the night before Jaci was concieved he told me that he was ready to get married and asked me if I would marry him. Three weeks later, we found out we were pregnant (not even trying, but not being good about preventing either) so we moved the wedding up a year and made it small.
I am lucky- I have a wonderful husband and daughter. Only one problem- What to do with those inlaws who still would love it if their baby boy were living with them? argh! But he's still worth it!

Dh and I met in a bowling alley! LOL! A co-worker of mine was in a bowling league w/dh. They bowled on Friday mornings (dh was working night shift then). Anyway...I was still dating a guy when my co-worker started telling me about this guy in her bowling league that I HAD to meet. LOL! Ended up breaking up w/the guy I was dating (after 3 years together) the beginning of Feb. of 1992. My friend kept bugging me to meet my now dh for weeks but I was just too darn happy to be single for a time, ya know? LOL! Anyway...I finally gave in in April...lol...and met her for an early lunch at the bowling alley. I met him there and we talked while he bowled and then he asked me out on a date. We went out about a week later on our first date and by October of that year, I quit my job, moved in w/dh and went back to college full time. We were married in April of 94
MommyToAshley replied: Guess your friend knew best, eh? That's a great story!
