Horrible, horrible night

I turned around at one point to see her standing on the chair and I told her to sit on her bottom, then I heard a *thwack* and saw that she had just dived head first into the tile I scooped her up and she was doing the silent scream and DH took her from me so that I could get an ice pack. As soon as I gave her to him I noticed that blood was pouring from her nose... not dripping - almost GUSHING! I freaked out and started crying. I had no idea what to do, and DH was trying to calm ME down so that we could calm Sophia down. After a minute I regained my senses and got an ice pack for her golf ball sized lump on her head and got some tissue for her nose. Today she's fine, as if nothing happened! I've really never been that scared though. It was awful

well on the brighter side....Maybe, she'll listen when you tell her to sit down now because she'll remember how bad that hurt!

Is this the 'clumsy stage'? Woody took K to work with him this week & she tried to chase a ball under a desk...full speed WHACK on her head. Big goose egg.

Sunflower04 replied: Oh the poor kid. I think that is just the age that they enjoy standing while they eat. My ds does it all the time except when he falls it doesn't scare him enough to stop.

mckayleesmom replied: I always tell Mckaylee that she has to stay on her butt if she wants to sit in the big girl chair...otherwise she has to go back in her highchair...usually her butt plops back down faster then I finish the sentence.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: OH NO!! Poor Sophia!!! That made me cry!! (okay, I'm super emotional today) I'm glad she is better today. Maddie has had her fair share of bumps and bruises and I've had my share of scary moments like those.

MommyToAshley replied: OMG -- how scary!!! I am not good with stuff like that and would have freaked at the sight of blood. And, I think the silent cry is the worst cry of all! I was even scared reading your post.
