Horrible, horrible comment..
Calimama wrote: I have a "I love my Marine" sticker on my car. Well I was getting Miabella out of the car and this lady yells, "How does it feel to be in love with a baby killer? F*** the military! I hope they all die." and walked off. Can you imagine if Miabella was like 6? And understood that!? I'm wondering if I should take the sticker off. Not because I'm not proud of him, but I guess it could be a potential danger. One of my friends had stuff thrown at her car once.
Crystalina replied: I would NOT take that sticker off! You have to remember that for every one lunatic nut out there there are also many more people who don't think like that. What a looney bird!
How did you hold your composure?!!!!! Maybe because MiaBella was there but if my daughter were not with me.....wow.
sparkys2boys replied: OMFG.. I cant imagine someone being that freaking ignorant. OMG OMG I would have been soooo ticked. I agree, DO NOT remove that sticker because of that person's stupidity. If she was so concerned of the babies she should of seen that you had a child with you and that her daddy was gone right now. I feel terrible that you had to go through that
CantWait replied: WOW, if I were there, that lady would have one less head. Show your sticker with pride. Like Crystal said, for every one lunatic out there, there are a ton more there who are supportive and have some brain cells left in their head.
I can't tell ya how much that irritates me when people don't bother to educate themselves on what the soldiers are doing overseas.
PrairieMom replied:
#1 people suck.
#2 He is not a baby killer
#3, if you have a problem , take it up with Bush.
I am not a fan of this war, but I would never ever ever say anything against our troops, in any branch of the armed forces.
I love your marine too.
Calimama replied: Well I yelled back, "Enjoy your IGNORANT use of free speech.. thank a Solider for that right by the way." I wanted to run her over though.
ETA: I shouldn't have said anything.. but I'm a little touchy when he's deployed.
msoulz replied: So very well said!!!!
boyohboyohboy replied: I agree that you have every right to display that sticker and be proud of your military man, but i guess i would be a little concerned for when you have your dgt out with you...i mean it would only take that one lunatic to do something terrible i just never thought people really had the guts to do things like that. i just dont know what would posses a grown woman to yell across the parking lot to a woman with a baby... that does sound so scary though. and i love your marine too.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: The war is stupid.
The soldiers, however, are not... and they don't deserve the idiocy some people so moronically display. They need all the support they can get.
Just because someone supports a marine doesn't mean they support the war.
Display it proudly.
my2monkeyboys replied: I am so sorry you had to deal with that idiotic, self-indulgent b!tch. I hate people like that. I am neither opposed to the war nor our troops. But even if I hated the war I would still support the troops and their families. They are doing a tremendously courageous job and everyone of them deserve a special place in our hearts and in our country. Some people just deserve to be sent to an Iraqi prison for a while...
I think you handled it great, though. That was a perfect reply.
ETA: Display your sticker proudly... your husband is doing absolutely nothing wrong.
BAC'sMom replied: One bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch
Keep your chin held high honey and screw anyone else
Darn I wish I could post my favorite smilie
lovemy2 replied:
And Ditto Ditto Ditto to Tara and Stacey -
I Love Your Marine Too
Hang in there kiddo - you are doing great
MommyOfThree replied: I can't believe someone would be so rude! Especially when you are with a child. My husband is in the Air Force and every now and then we have run across some dumb, ignorant person who will state an opinion that they have no right to state. Most of the time, though, people are very compassionate. One time when we were out with our kids eating dinner, the waiter came over and said that someone had paid for our dinner to thank my husband for being in the military! I felt so good about people that weekend. Just ignore that person and know that your family is making more of a contribution to our country than many others.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I'm sorry you had to hear that! People can be so rude and ignorant sometimes! I would definately keep it on!
luvmykids replied: OMG What a lunatic
Just goes to show her ignorance, what is yelling at a woman and her baby going to accomplish? Ok lady, you're making a big difference in the world, way to get things done
I am so sorry, I support not only our troops but their families who are dealing with a loved one being in harms way and gone for months and months
grandma replied: Oh I'm so glad I've never been around when some dumb loud mouth was spewing crap about our proud Marines. I don't know that I would have demostrated the calmness you did. She's the reason I would never take my sticker off. Just remember for every one of her there's probably 500 of us. My son was a Marine and when I see a Marine, Army, Navy, Air Force sticker I feel proud. Like many I hate the war, but I love our men that serve proudly. Shame on that lady, shame on her for saying that out loud and in front of a Marine's wife and baby.
Put me on the list for LOVING your Marine!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: WOW!! I'm so sorry, hun.
I love your Marine, too.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Don't you dare take that sticker off!
redchief replied: Display that sticker proudly. Unfortunately, your Marine would probably say he fights so that her ignorant a$# has the freedom to spout such vulgar lies. I'm not going to get into a debate here about the justifications or lack thereof of this war, because you didn't ask what anyone else thought about the war.
Robert E. Lee, upon looking over the battlefield at the dead from both north and south, said after the battle of Fredricksburg, "It is a good thing war is so terrible, lest we grow too fond of it."
William Tecumseh Sherman said simply, "War is hell."
I can hope that this woman felt this way, but I doubt it. I fear she was simply spouting what her narrow mind was able to conjure upon laying her eyes on the the bumper sticker; that the military is bad because the war is bad because politics got this country into what she perceives as a bad war. Hold your head high, and never be afraid to show your pride in your Marine. Most of the country has your back! God bless him and keep him safe until he returns to you.
A&A'smommy replied: baby killer?????WTF???? People are SO F&())(*)#^%^&^# stupid
I'm sorry honey!!!
HuskerMom replied: What a horrible ignorant woman! I say don't take down the sticker.
MoonMama replied: Oh honey I am so sorry! *insert many not nice words here* I would have lost it! I would leave it on there! My cousin is a Marine and I have a sticker on mine (well I need a new one now ) that says "Proud of my Marine cousin".
Cece00 replied:
I'm proud of your husband for doing his job. And you are right, its ppl like him who make it possible for ignorant c*nts like her to say things like that.
Ignore people like that, honey. Some people were born with s*it for brains.
Calimama replied: I'm leaving my sticker up. Thanks for the kind words everyone.
MoonMama replied:
Crystalina replied:
Nina J replied: Wow, how rude. Thats unbelievable. Leave your sticker up with pride, I think for every 1 ignorant person, there are 20 people who look at that sticker and thank God for people like your husband who risk there lives and spend months away from there families for us. That woman wouldn't have the guts to do what your husband does every day, she'd be cowering in a corner from fear.
bawoodsmall replied: Screw her. You and all of us are proud of your dh. I am glad you are keeping the sticker on.
BabyOwen427 replied: I think it's awesome what you said. I don't think I would have been that 'kind' to her. I understand how touchy you can be while he's gone. I'm lucky, my dh is only at Ft Jackson, 1100 miles away, and not deployed somewhere. I'm sorry you had to experience that.
Mommy2BAK replied: Stupid woman!
TheOaf66 replied: I would put another one on there and walk around with a I Marines shirt on.
Reminds me of the outlandish protesters of every other war. You can be against it fine but to display it like that is just stupid because it is in front of a child/in front of a guys wife when he is overseas. People like that are the ones I would like to put on a plane and drop them in Iraq for a day and see what those guys go through and I bet they would change the f*&^ing tune then.
Sorry you had to experience but I would puff myself out and say "darn right my DH is a marine and defending the very ground you're walking on"
My2Beauties replied: Wow *shaking head in dismay* I cannot believe people are so ignorant towards other people. Who cares what she thinks about the war, it's called respect and your DH is over there fighting for her very right to say what she said to you.
Honey had I been there, I would have probably went to jail, you handled yourself way better than I ever could have. Kids or not, I probably would have lost it
lisar replied: I agree with what you told her. Thank a soldier for the ground she walks on and the right to say that to begin with. What a bi&^h....
