Home Parties - Do you attend them?
mckayleesmom wrote: If Im invited then I will usually attend them. I don't feel obligated to buy something....I think of it another way...Its the one chance that I get to not feel guilty about buying something for myself.....I usually set a limit of how much I feel comfortable spending before I go.
If I don't have money to spend....then I don't attend.
sparkys2boys replied: I usually don't go to them.. have never ever liked attending them! And it ticks off my friends cause they want you to go and spend spend
Calimama replied: I go sometimes. My friend has those "adult" parties so DH will come home and take Miabella so I can go. He goes out of his way to make sure I attend those.
grandma replied: I use to go, but not anymore. At my age no one really expects you to go anymore.
Crystalina replied: I always have a "previous engagement" unless I know I may buy because I would feel obligated. They invite you, they feed you and I just feel like I have to buy even though I know I don't.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Depends on what it is and depends on if I have money. If I don't have money I usually don't go because I have no will power to say no. Every once in awhile I'll go for the snacks and socialization, but then I end up buying something so it's best I don't go at all if I can't spend anything.
mckayleesmom replied: I love those partys.....Even if Im not buying....Its usually pretty funny.
grandma replied: THOSE parties are a lot of fun and would still consider going to one...lol
A&A'smommy replied: ick I go to the jewelry, and adult ones.. i got invited to go to a knock off purse party tomorrow and to bring a friend I really don't want to go... so I'm using Jeremiah as an excuse
gr33n3y3z replied: I only go to the ones that I can bennifit from Candles and things for the house thats it
mckayleesmom replied: ditto....I can buy a purse from Target....so I don't go to those ones...
grandma replied: Now that you mention it I have gone to purse parties. Those are where otherwise normal women act like wild animals clawing to get the purse they want...lol
sparkys2boys replied: So the truth comes out
Hmm.. do you spend lots I wonder at them??
TrulyBlessed replied: Sometimes I go and sometimes I don't. I used to not go when I didn't have any money to spend, but now I will still go so I can visit with other people. I have never gone to an adult party though. (there not my thing) I like to go to Party Light, Creative Memories and Pampered Chef.
DillsMommy replied: OOH-- I really want to go to one of those but nobody I know ever has one. I have been to several Pampered Chef parties though. Not too exciting and I end up spending more than I should....
MoonMama replied: My DH would too. Although I have only been to one.
I have been to a couple and bought something each time. But they haven't come up very often.
Jamison'smama replied: In my neighborhood they come up very often and I usually go. In fact I just went to a jewelry party on Monday and I am having one in May. I love the jewelry parties. I have had and been to loads of Tastefully Simple parties and have a few things I get each time. My next door neighbor sells Pampered Chef and a good friend of mine hosts the "illegal" knock-off purse parties.
luvmykids replied: It depends on what they're selling and who the hostess is.
Brias3 replied: I just went to the first one in practically forever tonight. I typically don't like them, but ended up going tonight and really enjoying myself. I had looked the catalog over before I went so I knew what I was going to buy and didn't spend over my limit or have to buy something I didn't really want.
maestra replied: I am a consultant for one of those companies that sells kitchen supplies, but I'm not allowed to advertise what it is online
kit_kats_mom replied: One of my GF's does the adult parties so I go to about one every other month to support her. I've bought a few things but I don't feel obligated since I'm usually helping her too. I don't like the other parties. Jewlery isn't my thing and neither are purses. I'm terrified that I'd put us into bankruptcy if I attended a Pampered Chef party.
kimberley replied: not my thing but i know lots of people who do.
