Hi - haven't been around much

We went to our first NICU reunion a couple of weekends ago. There was a ton of people there. We continue to realize how blessed we are as there are many children with significant ongoing problems. Unfortunately, several showed up with sick kids and, sure enough, within a couple of days Jeremy had a good cold going. Only the second time he's been sick. Of course, with all the sneezing and coughing on mommy and daddy, we both caught it too. To make matters even better, the afternoon after the reunion, I was out with me stepson doing a little rough riding on our trail bikes and I took a spill. Landed my full weight on the back side of my shoulder and wrenched my whole ribcage around. Went to the ER because I thought I had broken some ribs. No definite fractures found, but alot of sprained and strained muscles and rib cartilage. We are almost 2 weeks out from that accident and I still hurt alot!

Anyway, we keep on keeping on. Hope everyone here is doing well and I will try to get in here more.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon. We all had a nasty cold a few weeks ago too. DH and I were sick for weeks, but Ashley only had it for a couple of days. Thanks goodness!

I hope your ribs are feeling better soon, OUCH! It sounds painful. Try to get some rest.

Congrats on the 100th post and on the new job! Just curious, what do you do?

Shooter replied: Fifteen years ago I graduated with an associates degree in Medical Record Management and that is the field I continue to be in right now. I do alot of record review, deciphering doctor's handwriting and pulling out important medical information for hospital statistics and insurance reimbursement. I am also a licensed physical therapist assistant since 1999, though job opportunities in that field have been few and far between. It's unfortunate because I truly love doing PT. I had always hoped to work at one of our children's hospitals in PT, but I guess for now I will have to settle for the records area.

Sounds like this new job will be better for you in the long run, so that's good. Stability is very important for a family. My DH has been at his job for 11 years now. I'm so glad that we're stable and don't have to worry about him being laid off or anything.

I hope everyone gets over that cold soon. It's so miserable when everyone has it.
