Kirstenmumof3 wrote: blink.gif I was shopping at Zellers/HBC for the family were sponsering and I came across the Bratz isle, well they have all there Bratz dolls on Buy on get one FREE! So I grabbed 2 and I figure that both the 6 year old and 9 year old would like them. thumb.gif

bawoodsmall replied: That is a good deal but I hate Bratz dolls. They are hootchie mamas imo. My kid likes them though.

stella6979 replied:
Ugh! I really hate those things too and have already warned everyone that we don't want them in our house. dry.gif
To be honest, I would maybe check with the Parents first only because I know SO many people who don't care for them. JMO.
On the flip side though.....GREAT DEAL!! I love BUY ONE GET ONE'S!! thumb.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: thumb.gif That is a great deal!!

A&A'smommy replied:
I feel the same way!!!!

Calimama replied:
Same with us. Gobs of makeup, feather boas, and heels.. it's just gross IMO.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Well okay then, Sorry I posted this! Bratz dolls was on the list that the girls wanted, so with a deal like that I couldn't pass it up. Emily had Bratz dolls and Polly Pocket, you wanna talk skimpy you should see what Polly wears.

My3LilMonkeys replied: To each his own, but personally I've never really seen what the big deal is. It's my responsibility to teach my children about respect and the proper ways to dress and act, not a dolls. If the girl asked for them, I'm sure she'll love it!

bawoodsmall replied: Yeah they like them and my sis doesnt care if her daughter has them so she may not either. I wouldnt worry that much. Like my dad got em one a couple years ago. I never said anything cuz I didnt want to be mean...it just accidentally got eaten by the dog..how sad. biggrin.gif

A&A'smommy replied: oops lets not hurt feelings in this post... wink.gif

And it is a REALLY great deal!

Kirstenmumof3 replied:
So because I let Emily play with Brats dolls this means that I didn't teach her to respect her body? Well let me tell you she does! She knows how to dress and embaresses easily when wearing gym clothes, you know the shorts that go down to there knees! In 2 years she will be going to a Catholic Highschool were she will have to wear a uniform and she is the first to say she would prefer it that way. So I think basing your info. on a doll is wrong. If you sit down and talk to them, they will do the right thing.

sparkys2boys replied: Great deal on the toys! And I got be the first to say WTG on being the one to try and help these kids that will have nothing on xmas!!! It seems to me that your heart is in the right place and thats what counts right now!! hug.gif

luvmykids replied:
I think what Pam meant was it's her job to teach that, that it doesn't depend on what dolls they do or don't play with hug.gif

Kentuckychick replied:
I think that she was defending you in that post wink.gif

What I took from it was that it doesn't matter what toys little girls play with as long as they aren't allowed to immulate and are taught respect. I think she was essentially saying the exact same thing you are.

It was just taken the wrong way.

I've never liked the dolls myself, but I don't have a problem with others buying them. It's all personal preference.

My3LilMonkeys replied:
hug.gif I'm sorry, I don't think my message was understood correctly. I was saying exactly what you are - as long as I am doing my job as a parent my kids will dress and act respectfully no matter what kind of dolls I let them play with and I personally will not restrict my children from playing with a doll based on the way it is dressed. And if my girls should ever ask for Bratz dolls, I will let them have them.

hug.gif hug.gif I feel terrible that I may have accidentally insulted you - I am so sorry. You are a wonderful mother and I was trying to agree with you.

Kirstenmumof3 replied:
bawling.gif I'm sorry! I misread your post. Thank You for understanding! I'm just having a really difficult week! bawling.gif

holley79 replied: I don't care for them. It seems to be the things the girls like right now. I bought Brandon's sister one last year because she wanted them. Good price. I, personally, just don't have a fondness for them.

PrairieMom replied: Awesome deals. I love buy one get ones, and 50% offs... the best is when you can get "another 30 % off the already reduced price... thumb.gif

MoonMama replied:
I agree. I don't like them one bit. dry.gif
