Here's our snow so far...

It's nothing like what you Canadians had. Since I took the pics inside, you can't tell from the pics, but it is still coming down out there. (our deck is off the second floor, that's why it looks like the trees are up so high)

At least you got the day off and didn't have to venture out in it. I have to warm up my car for 10 minutes before I can leave, and its only been sitting out there for an hour. It's -11 in my garage right now and its insulated.

Your yard looks so pretty tho with all the trees. We don't have trees like that on the prairie.

They actually called off school because of the ice. It rained yesterday and all that froze and there is ice under the snow. I don't think they would have called it off just for this snow, but sometimes they are over-cautious.

They haven't called us off at all this year, I think they maybe only did it once last year, I don't remember. Its pretty rare. I live in the city tho, the smaller towns in the country get called off way more often.

A couple weeks ago I ventured out in the snow and cold to take my preschooler to school, but my MOPS meeting was actually canceled. so, its not bad enough to keep baby's home, but its to bad for the mommies to be out?

lisar replied: That is so pretty. Its cold here today also. Our high is only 65 and no offense to anyone but here in Florida thats considered jeans and a long sleeve shirt with a jacket for us. It is supposed to be in the 80's this weekend. I cant wait.

mom21kid2dogs replied: OMGosh~we're having so much fun!!! We shoveled walks for and hour and a half. We've been sledding for 2 hours, just came in for lunch and then we're headed back out! We've gotten about 4".

Our HS and MS are in today. They cancelled the elementary runs though. Now we're on make up day 2. We'll be whining in June but we're lovin' it now!

My2Beauties replied: That's what it did to us last week, it started Monday night, took me 2 hours to get home in that crap, but it was beautiful. Ours melted a few days ago. It's beautiful. It was flurrying here this morning but nothing stuck. We're supposed to get hit tomorrow throughout the whole day with snow, sleet, and freezing rain Gotta love this weather....honestly I'm done with the snow and ready for the hot weather, I would rather have it feel like it's 110 degress outside than be cold like this.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I think they are overly cautious in closing schools anymore, I remember going to school in that and worse weather.....I was out in it taking Kaitlin to school ya roads were slopy and some parts were icy but I never had an isssue, course most people dont take the weather in account when they drive

We've gotten about 4 inches now too... I posted that pic pretty early in the day. Ashley wants to go out in it, and I would if it weren't for the wind. Are you getting high winds? The snow is actually falling vertically right now from the wind ... brrrr.

We are getting some blowing on and off here but not too much. It gets alot colder when it blows~that's for sure. About 3:30 it started snowing harder that it had all day. we had alot of fun out sledding in it. I'll see if I get a few minutes to post some pics. I sure hope we go to school tomorrow. I'm on the no workee, no payee plan . It's killing my bottom line!!! It doesn't look good for Friday here, either. we're supposed to get the snow, sleet & freezing rain that LeAnn's area is supposed to get tonight/tomorrow!
