Here's a question for ya - concerning laundry

Hillbilly Housewife wrote: Do you always wash your childrens' clothes, and your own, or do you sometimes put the clothes back in the dresser/closet if it's not dirty and/or smelly?

My kids I guess aren't messy in the slightest bit... most often than not, their clothes isn't dirty even after a full day of play... so sometimes I cheat and put the clothes back in their dresser or closet... emlaugh.gif

Same with mine... like my pants... I'll sometimes wear them three or four times before washing them...they're not dirty, they don't smell... I do wash my underwear, socks and shirts all the time though. DH's shirts, underwear and socks get washed all the time too, but his pants go back on a hanger. emlaugh.gif

We also use our towels more than once... we use them for about a week before changing them, unless we use them for something else, like to mop up a water spill on the bathroom floor, obviously.

Any of you cheat that way too?

coasterqueen replied: We do with towels. I never used to do that before meeting Dh. I always got a new one every day, but he nipped that one in the bud when we started living together. happy.gif
The girls get a fresh towel every bath, though.

I never cheat with the girls clothes. They play so hard they always get dirty or they drop food all over them.

As far as my clothes, if it's a suit outfit, I'll wear it a few times if I didn't get it dirty, but that's about as far as I go with that.

Our Lil' Family replied: I wear my jeans twice and we use towels twice. Any more than that and I find they start to smell sour. I usually wash Thomas' clothes after one use, he's a true boy! DH's clothes is usually only worn once too....dress pants wrinkle too easily!

TANNER'S MOM replied: I can't do it.. I can't reuse anything. I figure it's dirty.. I have an hour rule...if I have wore it for an hour then it's dirty.

When it comes to towels, I don't mean this bad but I can't reuse them at all. I use two towels one for my hair and one for my body. While they may be used on my body after it's clean.. I think of all the dead skin and gross cells on the towels. Plus I love fresh smelling towels, and they get that sour smell after they are wet.'

I am a laundry freak.. I love the smell of fresh laundy..and use everything imaginable in it..

Kaitlin'smom replied: yep with towels I dont have that many of the ones I like so I use them a couple days and then get a fresh one. Same with our pants if we dont spill anything on them or stink them up we will wear then 2 or 3 times before the next wash. the only thing Kait will wear more than once before washing is night clothes.

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Lol!!!

I prefer to reuse a towel on my clean body two to four times to the thought of all the crap in my bedsheets.... and those only get changed once a WEEK! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Calimama replied: I never put Bella's clothes away after she's worn them.. but she is 2 months old and spits up on EVERYTHING.. as well as our clothes. Towels we use for a couple of days or so and then I wash them. wink.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: our family is similar to Mels. If it has touched our bodies, it goes in the wash. smile.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: Towels...I use them about 3-4 times before I wash them.

Bedsheets I change once a week.

I let Tanner wear his jeans about 3 times before I wash them. Since he is home all week during the day they really don't get dirty. If they are dirty or smelly, I throw them in right away. It's a look and smell procedure. laugh.gif All his other stuff I throw in his hamper after he wears them once.

momannabelle replied: I must be really bad then. For myself, I wear my jeans at least 4-5 times b4 I wash them, and some of my shirts I'll wear a couple times too. My DH does his own wash, so it's up to him. As for Tyler, usually he can't wear the same thing twice, he too is ALL BOY!!! The baby can usually wear her pajamas for 2 nights. As for her day clothes, I had sooo many given to me, that I change her twice a day, just so she's able to wear them all b4 she grows out of them. Not to mention, I can't resist dressing her up in all the sweet little outfits!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy I got my girl!!! wub.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied:
I know it freaks me out too.. which is why I change more than that.. but I also only get in bed after a shower...lol Those shows on TV where they show the bugs on your pillows freak me out..lol

mckayleesmom replied: McKaylee and Russell are really hard on clothes, so they never make it half the day...let alone another day.... laugh.gif . This is why they are usually running around in underwear or diapers in the house.... laugh.gif .

Jeans we wear a couple times, tops usually get washed and Towels get used 2 o 3 times....if they don't have to wipe up a spill.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: If they aren't dirty and don't stink, he wears them again before I wash them. I don't want to wear out his clothes by washing them too much. wink.gif Same with my clothes - I usually wear my jeans 2-3 times before washing them (unless they get dirty) and shirts I'll wear twice if they aren't dirty - but my shirt usually gets something on it from Andrew. rolleyes.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yeah, I watched a show one time that showed the mites feeding off the dead skin cells on towels that were reused. puke.gif And this was a normal family. The mother thought she was being 'clean' and conservative. huh.gif I think she washed the towels every other day. With that being said, our sheets get changed real often and we use a different towel each day. wink.gif

It depends on the rest. I've been known to wear my jeans more than once before washing them. Scotty's suits get worn twice before we send them to the cleaners. Undergarments are washed every use. happy.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I wear my jeans until I have to wash them. Usually 4-5 times unless they get a stain or something. Same with shirts unless they get dirty inbetween and have to be washed. If they aren't dirty and do not smell then I don't care. I don't want to wear out my clothes. I also do not sweat much and have certain clothes for weekdays for work and other clothes for weekend clothes or "going out of the house clothes". Hubby's clothes depend...he sweats a lot and smells "like a man". laugh.gif

Oh, and of course undergarments get washed every time, same with socks. smile.gif

Cece00 replied:
Same thing for me!!

CantWait replied: I never cheat with the kids clothing, sometimes with Robbie's if it's only been a couple hours.

I cheat with mine though.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Towels get used 2 or 3x, jeans usually twice. DH's football jerseys I stretch as long as possible (he wears shirts under them so they don't get smelly) because too much washing wears out the lettering on them terribly. Nightclothes are usually good for 2 or 3 days too. And I only have 2 bras that fit really well so I will sometimes wear them for 2 days in a row too. blush.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Towels are washed after one use.
The girl's church clothes may get worn a twice before I wash them, or have them put them up to be drycleaned.
The girl's everyday clothes are washed after one use.
Pajamas can be worn twice though.

Our clothes are washed after one use. Although t-shirts for around the house (only) can be used twice before I wash them. Once I go out in public they must be clean t-shirts.
