Help me decide....quick!

luvmykids wrote: My parents just called and are buying us (well, me LOL) a new dishwasher and cook top for Christmas. I can't decide what color....

My cabinets are light oak, my countertops are cobalt blue, and the floor is white ceramic tile. Hopefully the fridge and stove will be replaced soon so I'm ignoring their colors. So, DH wants stainless or black, I want white. Even if I get new countertops I will probably stay with the blue, because I love it. The floor might eventually be wood but who knows when so I'm working off the current color.

What color should I get? Here's a pic from when the house was on the market

On a side note, I was telling my mom no, that it's too much, etc and didn't know my dad was on the phone. He said "To continue arguing with your mother in English, please press 1" rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: me I woudl do black, but thats cause its my favorite color.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Mine are black AND stainless. wink.gif

Calimama replied: I'd do stainless!

MommyToAshley replied: Awee, that's really great of your parents. Do they want to adopt another daughter?

From looking at the picture, I would go with white also. Have fun deciding! I don't know what it is about new appliances, but it's exciting to get them. laugh.gif

moped replied: black

A&A'smommy replied: stainless

MotherForever2043 replied: Black..I think it would go well with the light oak color.

moped replied: Only problem with stainless is the cleaning - I have a few items and love the look without the fingerprints - UGH......

Side note: Darn that is a clean kitchen girl!!!! Good for you!

luvmykids replied:
Not my kitchen rolling_smile.gif That pic was from the listing when we bought it laugh.gif

I went with black. Thought about stainless but hate the fingerprints, and considering it was my parents money I was spending I just couldn't bring myself to do it, especially since we have a running joke that everytime they buy me an appliance, we move rolling_smile.gif

I like the white, but something about the dishwasher I picked just looked better in black so I stuck with it. They should be installed by next week....woohoo, I have done dishes by hand for the last few months and only had two burners on my cooktop for a few weeks. I've gotten used to it but I'm excited at having a fully functioning kitchen again! thumb.gif

The nice thing about shopping with my mom is I get to spend more money that way laugh.gif The ones I wanted were about half the price of the ones she talked me into rolling_smile.gif

Our Lil' Family replied:
Now that's awesome! rolling_smile.gif

PrairieMom replied: I have heard that stainless is really hard to keep looking nice because of the fingerprints. I think I would do white, I think black with the blue would be to dark.

luvmykids replied: UGH I am waaaay too analytical growl.gif I got home and wondered if we really got the "right" one....I found another dishwasher for $200 cheaper that is really similar but my mom wants me to stick with the one I got because it has all the features she wishes hers had and it's driving me CRAZY rolling_smile.gif

Plus now I am going back and forth on whether the black was the right choice or not....geez I can drive myself nuts. wacko.gif rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

lovemy2 replied: I would do black - I got white and wished I got black but the fridge in our new house was white and it was pretty new so that was a deciding factor thumb.gif

And BTW - my Mom bought ours too wub.gif

And your Dad - Colt must be a chip off that ole' block huh laugh.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
I bet the ones you picked out will be PERFECT! thumb.gif Don't second guess yourself, even though I do it all the time. laugh.gif

You'll have to show us an updated picture once they are installed.
