Helllllllllp Meeeee!!
Crystalina wrote: OMG, my hair is falling out in clumps! I've googled and read where this is normal after having a baby. This never happened with my other two though. Clumps!!
And if it's normal then how long does it last??????
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I had a bald spot about the size of a half dollar for about a month that showed up (after loosing my hair in clumps since giving birth) at about 3 months. It really sucked!!
Crystalina replied: Gabriella just turned 4 mos. So this is totally normal right?
Crystalina replied: And you lost clumps at a time? I just got out of the shower and almost cried. It's been coming out for over a week now but just lately the "clumps" are coming out.
my2monkeyboys replied: I had that with Will, but not with Waylon. It could be hormones, but if you've chemically treated your hair lately (coloring, perming, etc) it could be that, too. Here are some ~~~grow back quick!~~~ vibes!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm sorry that really sucks! I lost a LOT of hair after having Allie, but it never came out in clumps. I have read that hair loss peaks at 4-6 months after giving birth.
mckayleesmom replied: Unfortunantly its normal. My hair fell out for about a year after having Mckaylee. I had a nervous breakdown in the shower once because it was comming out in handfulls.
lisar replied: Are you still taking prenatal vitamins maybe that will help. I dont know. Why dont you call your dr and ask them about it.
booey2 replied: It is really common after have a child, however it is also common when your thyroid bottoms out after childbirth too. I would ask the doc to run a TSH test to see if your levels are off. After each boy I lost a lot of hair but once my med's were adjusted it all grew back. Take care, it is a living thing and it will grow back.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Crystal it is totally normal! Your haor cycles reset during pregnancy which is why women have such great hair during pregnancy...Mine fell out in handfuls when I had Tay and it got worse when I stopped nursing. It will grow back!
moped replied: Totally normal and I have heard it is from BF, I lost so much hair I thought it would never grow back and it has been about 7 months and my hair is finally thickening up a bit.
I hated that part.
coasterqueen replied: It took me well over a year with both to have that stop. Mine didn't come out in massive clumps, but it was pretty bad. I'd still say my hair is a LOT thinner than it ever was and Megan is going on 4.
BAC'sMom replied: Perfectly normal!
I freaked big time with my first child. I can remember being on the bathroom floor scooping it up by the handfuls, I thought I was dying or something
A&A'smommy replied: UGH I had that with both of mine but after Autumn it didn't start until I quit nursing!!!
MommyToAshley replied: Mine fell for about a year after Ashley was born. It drove me nuts because my hair was everywhere and I was always vacuuming.
Crystalina replied: Thank God you guys have dealt with this also. I guess with each child things ARE different because this never happened with the other two. I'm not taking any vitamins, only trying to eat healthy. I never took vitamins when pg either (I didn't with the other two) because they made me feel worse. I'm really bad about not taking vitamins or any other kind of pills.
D, this is what I'm dealing with. I put my hair up to cook and even when I'm burping Gabby over my shoulder I put a big towel (instead of a burp rag) over my shoulder to make sure she doesn't get my hair all over her face. I'm constantly untangling my hair from her fingers and she's to the point now were her hands are constantly in her mouth and ewwww! Just the thought of my baby getting hair in her mouth.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I experienced this after all 3 of my children. It did pass after a few months, but I remember being a little freaked out.
cameragirl21 replied: Try taking some biotin.
sc_mom2five replied: I'm glad you posted this. I took some pics of myself yesterday and realized my hair is REALLY thin! It didn't used to be but reading this made me realize it's probably because of my pregnancy last year. Go figure!
