mom2my2cuties wrote: Amish School Shooting

I pray for these families - Gosh - the school only had 30 students.

amynicole21 replied: Horrible. sleep.gif I saw it on the news just a few minutes ago. It's right outside of where I grew up.

mom2my2cuties replied: You know though - for what it is worth - somedays I wish I were Amish smile.gif

Especially today

ETA - Actually in light of the shooting - not today - but it seems like every electronic in the house is going psycho!

C&K*s Mommie replied: At the news conference they confirmed 3 deaths. And the shooter was getting revenge for something 20years ago?

So sad, that one of the victims died in a state troopers arms. sad.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: I dunno - I just saw where 3 girls are in critical condition ages 6-12 and that 6 are confirmed dead.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Yes, 3 are in very critical from what I heard. Be it 3 or 6 it is still sad. Hearing the details that they were only girls and they were shot execution style against a blackboard just broke my heart even more. sad.gif sad.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: OH gosh - I am not getting all the details (Andy wants to watch Handy Manny over and over) so I am just picking up bits and pieces from online.

Crystalina replied: I've been watching this for the last few hours on MSNBC. This mans a sicko! Taking revenge on poor children that weren't even alive 20 yrs ago (when whatever he's getting revenge on happend sad.gif ).

3 girls are dead. Suspect shot himself and 7 other victims are injured. Ages from 6-12. sad.gif

I can't stand when these creeps take the easy way out with a bullet. growl.gif growl.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: That is so sad
This is so getting out of hand any more

BAC'sMom replied: sad.gif so very sad

boyohboyohboy replied: we live 30 mins from where this just happened, and the local news is all over it. its the worst thing ever to happen here.
those little girls were so young, and how could the be revenge for what happened to him 20 yrs ago.
they say he the shooter had three little kids of his own and had called his wife right before he started shooting.
how terrifying those last moments had to be.
i just dont understand why these things happen.

b&bsmom replied: This is about 40 min from where we live, and I heard he worked for a tractor trailor company in Blue Ball, which is where we go tonight to bowl. It is just so scary. They say the crime scene is horrific I can not imagine, especially taking it out on the Amish kids, I mean it is bad enough to begin with but the Amish that is just so sad. I also feel for his kids, how do you explain this to them??? So horrible sending lots of prayers to the families of all involved.

mom2my2cuties replied: Everything I heard today says he was a Milk Delivery Man.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I heard some kind of delivery man too. The kids were talking to me when I was listening earlier to the news conference. But that he got off at 3 this morning, walked his kiddos to the busstop, and all seemed normal.

His wife found the suicide notes left for her and the children when she returned later that morning. sad.gif

holley79 replied: bawling.gif that is horrible.

Jolyn replied: That is just horrible. I feel bad for those families and the amish community. What a terrible way for our two worlds to collide. sad.gif

Nina J replied: sleep.gif It's so tragic bawling.gif

MoonMama replied: That is so horrible! bawling.gif

CantWait replied: I awful for this community. There is one Amish man speaking, he says that they don't expect things like this to happen here, but it's something that happens in commercial schools (public). How shocked they must be. It's like someone from the outside completely invading their way of life, the way they live. They live the way they do in part because they feel it's safer, and now that has been shattered for them. sad.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: My heart breaks for this area for those reasons Marie - They live how they do in order to protect themselves from things like this happening, at least in part.

jcc64 replied:

One way they happen is the ease with which deranged psychopaths can obtain lethal weapons in this country.

The way things have been on this board lately, I hesitate to make such a statement, and I don't have the energy or the inclination for a debate on the 2nd amendment. I'm not saying everyone's guns should be rounded up and taken away, but I think there's a problem when it's easier to obtain a gun than it is to get a dr's appt or more importantly, some therapy. Just some food for thought.

cameragirl21 replied: i'm right there with you, Jeanne, i'm not a big fan of the second ammendment either but i don't want to get into a debate about that one either. just wanted to tell you i agree.

mom2my2cuties replied:
I agree - it is too easy to get a hold of weapons. By legal or illegal means.
