He has stopped eating
moped wrote: Tom said he didn't eat any breakfast and tonight he didn't eat a bite of his dinner - so that left lunch for the whole day - what is going on? He is never a good eater, but this is crazy! Yesterday Tom said he didn't eat any breakfast either
So is this normal or a phase?
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Actually, Ethan is a HUGE eater and he hasn't been eating a lot lately, either. I think it's a phase. He'll eat when he's hungry. Ethan's deal is that he's just too busy to sit down and eat a meal.
Maddie used to not eat...EVER and she survived.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: Sam hasnt been eating as much as he used to..... I'm hoping its a phase, too.
MommyToAshley replied: Ashley has always been a good eater, but I notice she eats less in the summer, so maybe it is a phase. I am sure you do this already, but I'd just make sure that when he does eat that it is healthy and give a children's vitamin. Or, even have him drink ensure (is that what the kids one is called?)
ediep replied: Jason is a terrible eater, always has been. He'll refuse to eat lunch or dinner pretty often, but he survives
lisar replied: I say its a phase. Lexi done that to me. And I always worried about her.
moped replied: I jsut can't believe he isn't hungry after not eating so many meals
DansMom replied: Daniel goes through those phases, and I've noticed that he skips two meals (that is takes just a few bites) in a row like that. Sometimes he's "full" and needs to have a BM, other times he's just too busy and active to slow down and eat.
A&A'smommy replied: I know the feeling alyssa is a terrible eater (except during a growth spurt) and there are times where she will go ALL day without eating an actual meal.. just try to get him to eat some healthy snacks if nothing else it will make you feel better!
Our Lil' Family replied: This is a daily frustration in my house. Thomas is not a good eater at all. When he does eat well I get really excited! Breakfast is usually decent, I usually try to give him oatmeal or eggs in the morning, especially if we'll be busy and I know he won't want to stop to eat.
I bet it's just a phase for Jack, just wanted you to know that they survive...they'll eat when they are hungry. They are still going by their body, unlike us, we've had years to develop emotional eating, boredom eating, etc.
lovemy2 replied: My guess is either a phase, attention seeking or its just hot and he isn't hungry....and by attention seeking - I don't mean it in a bad way but it is quite obvious now to him and everyone else that you are pregnant and I am sure you get lots of ooohs and aahhs over your belly, etc. all of which used to be directed to him...so baby is starting to steal some limelight....however I don't think he is consiously saying - I am not going to eat today and let's see if they pay attention to me for it...just keep offering him the food like usual - they eat when they are hungry - look Olivia is only 34 1/2 lbs and she is 5 - she is a HORRIBLE eater but she is still very much alive and kicking
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: A phase. Wil goes through them all the time. One week he is an eating monster, cleans his plate and asks for seconds. And then the next week I can't get him to eat any meal except for a few goldfish crackers. I bet he has a lot on his mind with PT. I would give it a few days and see if things change. No fever, right?
