Having someone clean my house!!! - Dh decided it was time
coasterqueen wrote: Okay, even though DH and I have been having "issues" lately and he's been a crank trying to quit smoking, he told me at lunch that he has hired a company to clean our house twice a month!!!! YAY!!!!!!!
He had me get bids a while back and I asked him about it today and he told me to have them come starting this Friday, right before Kylie's 1st birthday party (on Sunday).
I am so excited! It was nice to hear this since we have been having our share of problems lately. He has been complaining for months that the house is a pigsty. Since I work, I don't seem to have as much time to clean. So finally after many arguments over this, I get to have someone come in.
I'm not going to know what to do with myself. My house will be cleaner than it ever has and it's new (only 5 years old)! LOL!
I'll let you know how they do on Friday!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Alright WTG! You wanna send them to my house when there finished! :
maliksmommy replied: I am so jealous, I was just thinking today that I would like to have somebody come in just once so I could get a little ahead of things. It just seems to be so much that I don't know where to start. to your DH for doing this:)
MommyToAshley replied: Good for you!
YAY!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Add me to the list of jealous people!!
Good for you, though!!
supermom replied: Me too, me too - although with the remodling job, it won't be too long before our whole house is covered in a thin layer of dust!! ACK! But it would be nice to have someone come in just to dust once in a great while!
MomToMany replied: Ohhhh....you're SO lucky!! And I'm SO jealous!! Wish my DH would do something like that for me!!
Good for you ; hope you enjoy your "time off"!!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: How nice of him! I wish I could afford it! lol!
aspenblue1 replied: That is great!!
kit_kats_mom replied: You will LOVE it! I have a cleaning lady who comes every other week and it is a life saver! I'm able to keep the house pretty neat on my own but I hardly ever get around to scrubbing toilets and showers, or mopping. She probably saves me 5 hours a week which I can then spend working at home or spending time with my DD. It is totally worth every penny, and since she only comes occasionally, it's really not that expensive either.
coasterqueen replied: You know, I have been begging since DD was born to get someone to clean, but DH thought it was going to be too expensive. Well, we were so amazed at the bids we got. They do so much more than what we would ever do and they are really fairly cheap, especially if done only twice a month. Actually every week is fairly cheap, but I think we will survive with twice a month
I know this means I will have to give something else up, lol. Not sure what that is yet, but I'm sure I will know it when it hits me, lol. Oh well, it will be so worth it and I can spend my evenings and weekends with my DD now.
victoire2002 replied: Fantastic!! Congrats! That is an excellent idea, and it just helps you to be the best mommy you can be. That's my opinion, anyway.
Plus, just having someone to relieve you every once in a while is a GOOD, GOOD thing for DH, too!! More relaxed DW = more nookie and affection!
Cheers, Vicki
coasterqueen replied: LOL, it's more like maybe we can have it more than once a month, etc. DH would rather have it more, obviously and I am so tired all the time, I don't. So maybe this will be a good thing, and we can finally have that part of our relationship back to normal, lol.
mckayleesmom replied: So was that why he is so generous?.....lol
coasterqueen replied: I don't know, maybe, lol. He hasn't gotten any yet, I have to see how well they clean the house
MomToMany replied:
:rollsmile:Hmmm.....maybe I should try that????? (See how long it takes him to "get it"!!! )
No seriously, that's awesome you can spend so much more time with your DD! I hardly get quality time with my older boys. Between the housework and the assembly things I do (3,000 a day-UGH!), I never have time to do anyhting with them. So it's awesome you get to do that!
coasterqueen replied: OMGosh!!! 3,000 pieces a day!!!???!!! What do you assemble? I'm curious. DH is always trying to find some kind of work I could do at home to stay home with DD.
MomToMany replied: It's really easy work. I attached a pic of what they look like unassembled. I push the wire in the black housing, and snap it shut to lock the wire in. Simple enough!
This isn't one of those mail-order assembly jobs. They're for the company DH works for. It goes on an automotive horn switch (beep, beep!). DH's company makes the switches and the wires in the pic. I assemble the wires, and DH brings what I get done to work each day. Then they are connected to the switches with a special machine, tested, and then shipped out to the customer.
The only thing that keeps me going is the money. Otherwise I wouldn't be doing it! They are very time-consuming, and the boxes of housings take up a LOT of room (they're stacked in the livingroom, plus in Hannah's room). It takes me about an hour to get 500 done, counting interuptions (the kids need my attention first).
ediep replied: I love my cleaning lady. SHe comes twice a month and she does a way better job than I could ever do!!
kit_kats_mom replied: well, I didn't have to give much up. I did start packing DH's lunches with some of the extra time I have but honestly, it's just for my sanity. DH knows that if mama's happy and not too stressed out, the whole house is happy
