Have you tried the fetal monitors?
MommyToAshley wrote: I was afraid to get one because everyone said it is hard to hear the HB with them. And, as paranoid as I was, I know that I would have freaked out the first time that I didn't hear it.
maestra replied: We rented the baby beat- and it helped during those times when she didn't move so much. We actually found her hb before the dr. did!
catou_98 replied: Yes, we bought the cheap one, you listen with earphones! and we absolutely HATED the thing...we couldn't hear anything... oh wait actullay we could hear everything BUT the heartbeat ! I brought it back to the stire and got a refund! definetely not worth it!
Mommieto2Girls replied: We have one and it's a piece of junk, I could hear all kinds of thing but nothing that sounded like a HB.
amynicole21 replied: I rented the Baby Beat and loved it!! It was sort of expensive, but for my paranoid mind worth every penny! I listened to her heartbeat every day from 10 weeks until she was born. Very reassuring for me, and fun too!!
booey2 replied: We never did because being a plus sized mom I heard all kinds of stuff about them not being to effective and I didn't want to waste the money.
jdkjd replied: I loved the Baby Beat! I could leave her heartbeat on my family's answering machines....
mummyof2boyz replied: I got the one that can change into a room monitor after the baby is born. Also being a plus size mom, I could not hear anything. But I could hear him kicking. Did not need to hear that sence I could feel it. lol I am kinda on shaky ground about if I liked it or not. I guess you can say I did not like it sence I could not hear the HB.
Kaitlin'smom replied: did not get one, being so late in the PG when I found out I was at the docs often so I always got to hear it there.
ediep replied: This is the exact reason that I ddin;t use one either!!
maestra replied: Just a note for plus sized moms- My dr also said that it's more common for them not to be able to hear it at the first visits either. She told me that it was due to my 100 lbs of extra "padding". Great thing about the baby beat was that it is a dr quality doppler. It is expensive to rent though!
MamaMartie replied: I bought a cheap one 6 years ago. I couldn't hear the HB until late in the pgs, but it was fun to listen to the other noises.
dolfinrse replied: My stepsister had one that she lent to me, but not until late in the pregnancy. It worked every single time though, and we could hear the heartbeat, kicks, and anything else going on it there.
