Have you started your Christmas Shopping?

Jamison'smama replied: I've bought a few things---since my family is coming here for the first time (I can't travel) and we are renting a cabin, we are only buying stocking stuffers for the adults and presents for the kids--we started getting a few things but we have a long way to go.

kit_kats_mom replied: Um, no. I picked up a jack in the box for Katherine the other day but that's it. I think we are going to have a quiet Christmas this year. K has a ton of toys but she really only plays with a couple of things. I suspect we will buy her one toy each and one from Santa. Baby Lauren will be bringing a gift for K too.

Right now, Katherine is the only one I need to shop for. I may try to pick up a few little things for some friends kids but nothing big.

Boys r us replied: I voted for 1/2 but in all reality I'm a little better thanhalf way done! Probably about 3/4 of the way done!

coasterqueen replied: I've kinda made a list but that's about it. Luckily on DH's side of the family we just buy for the kids but the stinker is they never give us their lists til like 2 weeks before Christmas.

On my side of the family we buy for each other and they are also notorious for waiting to tell us what they want last minute. AND with all of them....if you just go buy something you think they'd like...they tell you last minute that they really really want something else. Oh well.

DH and I won't buy each other anything because we've been putting too much money in the basement...or at least I think that's his plan. We'll buy one "family" gift and that's about it. Kylie's still young enough we don't have to buy mommy and daddy gifts just yet.

Kylie will more than likely get one or two toys from us and one or two from Santa since she got so much for her birthday and the rest clothes.


But....I'll probably wait last minute. If I shop now..I'll find something else later on and then I will have bought too much.

You're all going to laugh when you read this, I bought this race track for Spencer for Christmas last year and I just found it this weekend when I was searching for the Halloween costumes! I didn't even realize it last year when we were opening presents that this was missing! I can't believe I did that! I've started a list and I think DH and I are going to try to go shopping this weekend.

Boys r us replied: Man..I envy all you guys who only have a couple of people to buy for!
I feel like my list gets LONGER EVERY YEAR! It really kind of makes christmas unpleasant!

favre4fan replied: I have bought a few things for the boys, dh and I plan on just stuffing our stockings again this year to save money. DHs parents are coming from Newfoundland for 2 weeks at Christmas so that should be fun, I can't wait!

We usually don't buy anything until like a week before Christmas.

Alice replied: I'm about 3/4 done. I started in late September, when Toys R Us started their 1/2 off green tag sale. The biggies I still want to buy are a game boy and toy or 2 for Brian, and possibly bikes for him and Julia, since they've both outgrown the ones they're currently riding. I'll wait for a sale!

I love it!! But waiting for December saps the joy out of it sometimes for me. I try to finish early, and leave the little stuff... stocking stuffers and odds and ends... for the last minute. That way I can enjoy the hustle and bustle, without the stress.

My SIL is flying in from California next week, and BIL and family will be down from upstate for Thanksgiving. I would love to have those gifts bought so I could hand them over instead of shipping... We'll see.

My own family picks a name for the adults on Thanksgiving. Last year I got my sister's husband and had a moment of brilliance. I got him a lift ticket for a ski area in the Poconos. (my mom has a house near there.) I was so proud-- not another sweater!! Gotta love the internet.

I have nothing yet for Peter. He's gotten serious about his diabetes, and is watching his weight as it goes down with his diet. So I'll wait for December for him, till I know his size.
