shelbysmom replied: The first blood test I had the levels did not indicate I was pregnant. So, they had me take another one in a week, and they doubled. Was it to soon for a test?

moped replied: I personally have never heard of this because a blood test should be fairly accurate especially if we are looking at that long without a period............but I don't know. i am bumping this up basically

I would not think that is too soon...I tested positive w/ a blood test at around 10 days. Your levels double every 2 days if things are on schedule but if they did not do a quantative HCG level it does not give them a number of HCG and I have had a negative HCG blood test at 2 weeks pg. If they don't get a number read then it is almost just like a urine test-it doesn't read positive until a certain level is detected...with the quantative test you are concidered positive at 5-6ml of HCG in your blood.  I hope that makes sense...sorry if I did not word this very well! 
ilovemybaby replied: I met a lady recently that has to take progesterone during her pregnancies to sustain them. She always gets blood tests with low HCG or progesterone levels and she has lost two pregnancies.
You may have to take hormone tablets?
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I have experienced this and have NOT been PG. I had a 60 day cycle once and so I kept taking HPTs and getting negatives. My cycles are normally 30 days, so I obviously skipped a period or something. I think it was around the first few months I stopped BF Wil though.

I think that is what's going on. I think I'm just having a long cycle. I've really only had 4 regular periods since I quit nursing, thanks rae
KingMom replied: Funny you bring this up Kristi - I have the same thing going on now. Could have sworn I am PG but have taken two HCG test and both are negative. Since were trying I think I'll call the doc!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yes, it happened to me with Naomie.
I was late, took a hpt - only *I* could see it was positive - I took it to the doc's - he said there was no line, ordered a blood test. Took the blood test, negative.
Then I was SOOO sure of myself - I gt some more tests, took them, they all came back positive, but so faint that again, only *I* could see them... and went for another blood test - which came back positive that time.
